Gen Con Arena Tournament Roll Call

I need to know as soon as it comes out so I can take it into account in my book building if necessary. I can only afford to buy one more big expansion and one more small expansion.

I have a tournament ticket and a practice ticket going to anyone who wants it.  These spots have already been purchased.  Anyone who PM's me can have them.  My favorite mage has been neutered with the recent expansions and I have no desire to compete.

agree to disagree.  Just like straywood has been your main, AX has been mine. I've agonized (pun intended) over the cards.  AW has hurt the AX more than helped.  I was hoping for something in the academy forcemaster which did not come to fruition.

i,m with griz on this one. i think that warlock is still top tier. what i am hearing you say is that you refuse to adapt. this game will continue to expand. in that case it may be that some strategy or tactic needs to morph. or work on ways to make the old work by forcing your opponent to your will.

i think we are at a point where the field is wide open. play and continue to practice against as many different mages as you can. that experience will benefit you greatly. raising the bar for yourself, and your opponents as a result. those sessions should help point to updates you can make to improve your book.

What I'm seeing is that playtesters (everyone has their bias) have a certain idea in mind and can't see otherwise from the actual players.   I'm open to going card by card from what has been released in relation to other schools.

I'll agree the cards are there, if you go out of school.

Free participation is what I'm offering.  I personally don't see the AX as being competitive.  It's a shame because he is my favorite mage.  Had I known this was the way the game was going to turn, I wouldn't have purchased the tickets (probably not even the gen con tickets).

But I'm offering my slot free.

I'm predicting holy or force at this point.

Confirming my participation this year. My wife hasn't gotten a job yet, but my son has offered to advance me the money needed for my 4-day badge. I just got the email saying that the badge was just purchased.

Again, it'll just be for fun... and to be honest, I don't even know which mage I'm going to go with. I played a couple the other night and both seemed fun.

I see that there are plenty of tickets available for the Arena tourney, and a few for the practice time. But I have to ask... does the practice session really start at 6 p.m. Thursday, or can we show up early and play informally?
