Out of curiosity, if a future alternate Necromancer who pays triple for "Holy" spells and who is trained in "Dsjer-Tet" wants to put "Jeweled Scarab" in her book, how many sbp's does it cost?

This is not something currently covered by the rules. I think I'm safe saying that we have discussed the issue behind the scenes, so AW is definitely aware of it, but that's all I can say. You'll have an answer by the time you need one though.

To recap, we have one person saying "you're trained in that spell type so it costs 1", another who says "it belongs to a triple-cost school so it costs 3", and the resident rules guru then gives a cryptic non-denial statement that basically says "an official ruling will be included in an upcoming expansion where this contradiction presents itself."

I'll take that as confirmation that the next Arena expansion is "Conquest of Dsjer-Tet" and features an Egyptian themed female necromancer with an army of mummies.

No, no, you've got it all wrong.  It'll be called "Reclamation of Dsjer-Tet" and the Druid will be on the offensive to re-grow the Desert Kingdom.  Insects, Mummies and Spirits everywhere. 

As to the actual truth?

I think the mummy might have a home in my Necromancer book for domination.  Could make a good guard for an orb.

I've made some phone calls and checked with some distributors. As of right now the scheduled street release date for Academy: Force Master is July 15th. That means the plan for now, barring unforseen delays, makes this set LEGAL for the 2017 Gen Con Arena, Academy, and Domination Championships!

Just please keep in mind everyone there are a number of things that can delay a street release. Neither I nor Arcane Wonders can control shipping hiccups for example.

I very much hope though that these cards will be legal as I think they'll make things more interesting.

In my opinion the Eye of Itadjet is what Psylok should have been.
Psylok may have flying and 3 more life, but with full action attack it's barely a threat. Also the Eye has better chance to inflict condition.
