Academy spoiler Disciple of Radiance

I saw the disciple on facebook and what an awesome card!  :D She's clearly the counterpart of the [mwcard=MW1C02]Asyran Cleric[/mwcard] but instead of the defensive healing ability you gain the offensive damage ability. Hands down I prefer this version, it suits my playstyle much more and it will help you to gain tempo in the game. I expect to see coshade swarm with her ::)

In the starting rounds you can summon them to gain mana and by the time the opponent has arrived you could heal something and immediatly deal 2-3 damage if you have multiple copies of them. They could power up with the cheap damaged veteran. She might also be a very nice zombie-counter. (and we need those! ;) )

Imagine 6 of this in a zombie zone. If you cast 2 healing spell, you can deal 12 direct damage. Or imagine you reveal 3-4 healing enchantment, 18-24 direct damage. Wow, you could kill a mage with that...

If I saw 6 of these in a zone. I would stay far away from that zone.

The thing is, teleport and push exist. Radiance Pit will replace golem pit :)
It is possible to have 6 of these out and 3 enchantment ready to be revealed by turn 5.

This really create a zone of death. Purify for 0 mana and you deal 6 direct damage.

I'm looking forward to these in Domination. Cheap creatures that can tag or guard orbs and are surprisingly durable for their cost (6 life, 1 armour), plus can get a guaranteed damage on a target in a pinch. The priest/priestess really needed a level 1 creature like this. Kudos to the design team!

Just like you could see a golem pit miles away, but the difference here is that it doesnt require 4 creatures to attack. You take the damage right away the instant you get teleported into the pit.

I picture something like this as a priestess:

Turn 1: 20 Temple of asyra + harmonize 6
Turn 2: 16+2 battle forge + 2x Disciple 0
Turn 3: 10+2+1 Ehren enduring palading + regrowth + random enchantment on mage + leather 2+2
Turn 4: 12+4+1

By turn 4 you could summon another disciple and maybe heal Ehren completely with a minor heal. If the opponent is in your face by then you could deal 3 direct damage. -

oddly enough, barskin is a healing spell, but regrowth is not.

whats wrong with standing in starting zone for 6 rounds casting disciples and Iguana regrowths on them.

If enemy stays in corner own corner:
load enchantment tranfusion and divine intervention on mage.
Time initiative and QC teleport yourself in range with a dispell ready. If he reveals Anchor kill it, if not. then reveal all your enchantments in correct order before he can respond and deal him 36 damage.

If enemy aggros you just attack him with 2 dice'ers while you heal yourself (if mage is focused) or heal / ressurrrect disciples.

Against Sleep thoughtspores - the disciple can wake up herself :)

hahaha, cool! if you try that on a new player he will not look a mage wars a second time though.

seriously, maybe the effect shouldn't work for enchantments to prevent things like this? or only holy healing spells? The combo is hard to pull of though  :P

Was it ever confirmed that the 'hand symbol' on cards like Asyran Cleric, Joseph Trueblood and Healing wand is of the healing subtype?

The symbel varies from the 'light symbol' found on Samandriel Angel for instance.

If its healing subtype - then healing with the healing wand will also trigger the Disciple. (besides just casting the wand)

The main thing here is:

So creatures that cast healing spells do not work, this has to be cast by your Mage. Much like the question about Malakai's Fire question and answer, if it is a Healing Wand or any type of equipment that casts a spell with the healing subtype then "it counts" as trigger for the Disciple. Note how she is worded in such a manner that you can not trigger her 4 times in a 2v2 Team match.

hmm but you could stack up a few healing charms around the arena and activate the radiance pit from anywhere with a burst reveal?
