« on: April 15, 2015, 06:21:13 PM »
main question same as in topic?
what kind of a roll is the intern described one?
Arent the escape rolls are a defence rolls?
How is then this thinked over?  imo can i effect the restrained creature  with daze? or other condition?

if it is not a defence roll then which type it is? Escape roll? it is way to defend against sink in sand ? so imo it can be effected by daze and restrained -2 in def roll?

From the Core Rulebook v3.3:
Most conditions can be removed in a specific way. Some conditions are removed automatically, while others require an escape roll. Escape rolls are always made at the end of the creature’s Action Phase. Roll the effect die: if the roll matches the number required on the condition marker, it is removed. Otherwise, it remains on the creature until the end of its next Action Phase, when another escape roll can be attempted.

From the Codex:
Escape Roll (Game Term)
Some conditions or enchantments require an escape roll, using the effect die, to see if you can remove them from the creature they are attached to.

From the FAQ:
Quicksand (Forcemaster vs. Warlord)
The roll to escape from Quicksand is an “escape roll” for the purpose of other rules or effects that refer to “escape rolls”.

Escape Rolls are different from Defense Rolls so effects the modify Defense Rolls do not modify Escape Rolls.

Hope this helps!
