Arena starts with only the starting zones not touching each other 5 spaces away from each other in a 4x6 sized "plot of land". At the end of the upkeep phase each player chooses a place to put a zone tile in this "plot of land" or remove one that they control, starting with the player with initiative. It must be placed adjacent to a zone that's already part of the arena. Zones that are connected allow LoS and passage through them, but if zones are not connected, spells and objects cannot travel through them. Last mage standing wins.
Note: spaces are not zones. They are somewhere a zone can be placed.
