You would also need to take something that grants you reproduction rights or the Kinko's may turn you down for Copyright Infringement.

General Questions / Re: Nullify questions
« on: October 25, 2012, 10:07:30 AM »
Nullify can counter the hidden attachment of another Nullify card and must do so even though you actually have no idea what the attaching card is.  It doesn't matter if the attaching card is a face-down "Decoy."  You must reveal Nullify.

You also have to remember that a hidden enchantment still counts as an enchantment.  As soon as you are targeted by the face-down card, then you MUST use Nullify.  The reveal of Nullify is not optional.  You cannot wait until the card goes the the reveal as the enchantment is already attached at that point and isn't "targeting" anymore.

General Discussion / Re: Is the Warlock the weakest Mage?
« on: October 23, 2012, 05:18:46 PM »
Solo equip build Warlock can smoke any Mage right now. We have yet to see the Warlock lose a game. I played a game rolling 9 dice on melee with Vampirism. Fire support is crazy good also. Its pretty easy to get the Warlock up to 6 armor which helps.

Rules Discussion / Limit to free actions?
« on: October 23, 2012, 10:06:35 AM »
If I have two Hand of Bim-Shalla temples and one Temple of Light, can I use the two temples to affect a creature before activation, then immediately after the activation, use the Temple of Light, and then use my Quickcast action after that?  According to what I see in the book, this is playable because there is no limit to the number of free actions that can be taken before or after an activation.  Those cards don't even have to affect the current creature either.

One guy actually put some "Hand of Bim-Shalla" temples in his Beastmaster deck.  I didn't even think about it, but it is very useful and can be used directly before an activation.

Want to know how to beat a solo Warlock build?

Taunt with the ferret.  Use some enchants on it to keep it alive longer, and it'll take up all but the quickcasts.  The Warlock is locked into trying to get through the hefty defense of the ferret almost every turn.

not that I discount your answer, but that would mean only jinx could counter either of them. Because reverse magic and nullify both require targeting the mage.  Which seems counter to the way the game appears to be designed.

That is correct.  Currently there are no cards that protect enchantments.  Even Dissolve and Explode target the Mage before selecting the Equipment to be affected.  Always have to look at the targeting on the card first.

Spells / Re: Mage's Wand
« on: October 17, 2012, 10:59:05 AM »
Run lots of Nullify cards and your own Dissolve or Explode spells.  Sleep doesn't affect a Mage, and the Nullify takes care of the Wand casting Dissolve or Explode.  They expend a useless action and you get close enough to destroy the Wand.  Wands are really good,  but put Thunderbolt in a Wand and you'll out-distance your opponent with range 3.  Wand decks aren't very good against swarm decks.  Too much to have to try to handle and probably won't be using the wand as there are more important actions to take.

Hope you keep playing the game.  It gets better the more you play.  You'll start to lose the need to play it like a CCG.  Just look at it as a miniature game with flat peep's.

No. They target the "Revealed Enchantment" and the "Hidden Enchantment" cards only. The cards do have a controller but there is nothing that currently tracks back to the controller.

I actually like the dice the way that they are.  You are too used to doing a simple comparison of numbers to determine outcome.  Play a few more games and see if it feels better.  It lends some excitement to the game.  Cool to see a small creature roll well and the big creature totally whiff.  If the outcomes of the attacks could be predetermined then it would lose my interest completely.

I don't think that there is a way to change the dice without ruining the experience.  You could probably try playing with counting the crit one's as normal one's.  That way you'd only have crits on two's.  Or just don't use crits at all.

You should come back into Comic Quest, Jon.  Our rules debate wasn't personal and no harm intended.  We are starting some playtesting for Mage Wars and are looking for people for the playtest group.
