Rules Discussion / Limit to free actions?
« on: October 23, 2012, 10:06:35 AM »
If I have two Hand of Bim-Shalla temples and one Temple of Light, can I use the two temples to affect a creature before activation, then immediately after the activation, use the Temple of Light, and then use my Quickcast action after that?  According to what I see in the book, this is playable because there is no limit to the number of free actions that can be taken before or after an activation.  Those cards don't even have to affect the current creature either.

An article did pop-up on tabletopgamingnews.com.

Need to get more on there for more attention.

Custom Cards / Ballista
« on: October 13, 2012, 12:10:32 PM »
Perhaps a Ballista could be a conjuration that has an attack of 8 but also requires the d12 roll with 1 - 8 miss and 9 - 12 hit. But it would have a ready marker that can only be used if a soldier creature spends a full action to use and can only get the marker refreshed by another full action from a soldier creature. Have to form a crew to operate. Could be the same for other warmachine types also.

Custom Cards / Builder or whatever

It seems to me that there is room for a creature type that gives it's controlling caster a mana reduction for conjuration spells targeting the same zone that it is in. Helping to build or create so to speak.  Maybe even an Engineer/Shaper familiar that can cast conjuration spells.

Custom Cards / Clumsy Giant
« on: October 09, 2012, 09:43:54 AM »
Clumsy Giant.

Would be kind of cool to have to cards to represent the Giant, a left foot and a right foot.  Summon the left foot to an empty zone only (for massive cost), then immediately summon the right foot to an adjacent empty zone for free.  Empty zones because he's afraid to step on anything at first.  Then during activations there would be a d12 chart to determine which player controls the movement of the creature foot when it is activated with the controlling player having the option to spend mana to affect his roll.  Automatic damage roll versus everything in the new zone.  If the two feet are ever more than 2 spaces away from each other, then the giant has tripped out of the arena and both "Feet" are destroyed.

Could be fun.

Rules Discussion / Seeking Dispel
« on: October 06, 2012, 06:09:23 PM »
Situation:

Player A has a Seeking Dispel in hand
Player B has an enchantment in hand

First, if during the Quickcast Phase Player B casts an enchantment and pays to immediately reveal the enchantment, can Player A use Seeking Dispel to cancel the enchantment before it is flipped?

Second, Can Seeking Dispel be used during the Counter Spell phase?

I say no to both, but some kid says that a designer told him that he could.
