Forcemaster Spellcount
« on: March 08, 2013, 04:45:04 PM »
Is it possible that the Forcemaster Spellbook in the rules has a mis-print of cards or quantity?  I've recounted the points for the 52 card list in the instructions and come up with 123 points.  I found only one novice spell (Power Strike) and no cards that trigger the 3X cost penalty. I probably missed something and wondered if there was a posting somewhere with the spell point costs associated with the standard builds?  Or maybe someone has the patience to check my work?

I know these forums aren't the best way to QC a list, but thought I'd summarize the cards and points I get when I add up the list from the rulebook:

       Count (#)     Cost
Equipment      6    12
Conjuration      2    4
Creature         7    17
Enchantment      9    32
Incantation      19    40
Attack         9    18
 Total          52    123

Thanks in advance for any help!

Thanks for listing the detail.  I got the same.  If anyone else is following the thread, Sean's Destroy Magic and Hail of Stones spells cost eight each in total but they showed up with an emoticon.  You can tell because of the running spell point total he posted.

I would love it anyone can identify a flaw in our math or if the company would address the issue with a revised spellbook list like they did with some from the master set.  If they need help QCing their games before release, there seems to a be a strong following of players who would probably volunteer their help.

I tried to disable the emoticon but could not find the proper escape sequence in the Kunena documentation.  If anyone finds out how to do this let me know.

I received A reply on the BGG site:

the Forcemaster should only have 1 x Force Crush (cost 3) in her pre-constructed spellbook
