Beastmaster quick summoning ability question

One of the Beastmasters special abilities is once per round, he can summon a level 1 animal creature as a quick spell action.

Is this in addtion to his other normal quickcast and quick action?  Or does he have to use one of his normal actions?

He must use one of his own actions.  

It just allows him to convert the level 1 animal spell from a full action, to a quick action.  In this manner, he could cast an animal creature spell while on the move.
