Yeah I really like that priest book, but i REALLY should have known that mambo was gonna bring a necro. That's a really bad matchup for that book as it doesn't have a ton of stuff in it to "kill the batman" as it were. Zombies are real tough and mambo is a great player!
Vs Necro's, you need to properly judge what they are doing, when, how, and with what team you want to move in with, and what is the first priority target.

So you've got to... play intelligent mage wars? Lol, that's how you win any game of mage wars against any mage.

That's true, but you need to be really smart vs Necro's.

From all the games we have seen so far and from a lot of the ones to come, the non creature spawnpoint books have been wiping the floor with the creature spawnpoint ones.
That is, the non creature spawnpoint books have won almost every time, not that the games weren't close.
That is by far the most interesting analysis of the tournament!
Can you tell me the matchups concerning that fact in quick list? It would take me hours :)

Shark vs Drmambo: Shark uses a forge and blue knight to take out Mambo's creaturs. As biblo pointed out, 8 dice for blue knight + 5 dice for ballista + x dice for paladin means almost anything Mambo played just instantly died.
P00pstar vs Werekingom: P00p's warlock smashes Werekingdom's priest.
Grimmbart vs Werekingdom: Grimmbart plays an amazing ehren + sealed demon + grimson forcemaster and smashes Werekingdom's Druid. Werekingdom played well, but was a bit tired and amazing play from grimmbart put the pressure on.
Jacksmack vs Enti: Jacksmack uses cervere and a deathlock to smash enti's preistess. Enti ran towards the deathlock, why I don't know. This game is a good example of how priestess angel spam is only really good when the opponent doesn't do anything. Enti tried playing a priest that was essentially the same as his priestess which I HIGHLY disagreed with vs Shark and that game took over 4 hours!
Jack Vs Keej: Jack Araxian rushes in with forge, the imp familar, and sealed demon for backup vs Keej's wizard. Personally, I think keejchen should have won this game. Instead of taking jack out, he turtled and lost as a result.
Those are the main ones of the top of my head.

                                                                        Double move Priest D4>D2
Steep Hill                                                         Chant of Rage on Light of Dawn (Priest)
Light of Dawn ranged vs Brogan
Malakai´s Basilika

Crusader Griffin Holy Avenger
Force Push (Chant of Rage LoD)                     Healing Madrigal FD Brogan (Priest)
Hit Brogan                                                       Consecrated Ground replace Steep Hill.

It might be better for Sharks Priest to attack Alendell with his Priest. He does have that Sunfire Amulet so he should be able to take a hit or 2 from Alendell. Point of that would be to save the Chant of Raged Light of Dawn for another round.

Snowduck seems to have the upper hand here, because he has a couple of creatures with regen. Sharkbait has one thing really going for him at that is their fighting in his Temple zone. So reinforcements will be directly at the front.

Sharks seems to change focus and give Dorseus Light+1 rather than Brogan

Pillar of Righteous Flame (hits LoD)
                                                                      Hit Priest
Bowshot Dorseus                                          Divine Reversal Dorseus (Cassiel)
Luminous Blast

Messinger of Bim-Shalla                                Chant of Rage (Guardian Angel)

When I saw enti's priest, I was so confused.
It looks to me that he's not playing a priest, he's playing a priest who is playing exactly like a priestess and is ignoring HA.
I think the book is not good as he completely ignored the priests strengths.

I partly agree with you. I made a Priest spellbook before Priestess Acedemy,PvS and LG.
I changed it for a Priestess just because "if im going to stay in my corner the whole game and meditate" why not have 10 channeling instead of 9. In the ADMW Winter Special your limited to not use the same mage more than once (1 mage twice) It very logical to make a couple of more or less identical spellbooks: Priestess, Paladin, Priest or Paladin, Warlord, Warlord or Warlock, Warlock, (Necro) or Beastmaster, Beastmaster, (Druid)

In fact i´m pretty sure you can find players who have used very similar spellbooks with different mages.

Not a bad strategy at all. If you comfortable with a spellbook and know that mage, his spells very well, your likely to do well with a similar build with a similar mage.

I disagree with "I think the book is not good as he completely ignored the priests strengths". Even if i just started watching the video i think snowduck´s /enti´s spellbook looks quite strong.

Cassiel, Ehren, Brogan, Dorseus and Alendell out at round 6?

I think you can complete ignore some of your mages strengths or abilities in play and spellbookbuilding and still do very well.

Well, you served me Biblo. ;)
The main thing I don't like is that non the priest's unique abilities are being used.
I think not using HA is a BIG mistake.
I'm pretty sure Coshade will agree with me on this: play to a mage's strengths. The priest's strengths are not mass high level creatures and no HA.

Why would you ever play priest if you don't use HA?
If you do that, the priest is literally poor man's priestess who can punch things.
NEVER EVER ignore an ability.

Well I expect that if you want to rush the enemy with light attacks you're better off with priest than priestess because of his other ability. While most of the time it's useful to take all abilities into account when spellbook building, you don't always have to use all of your abilities in every matchup.

I.e. If you want a warlock that uses a buddy goran instead of a bloodreaper. He's the only one who can use goran so based on this it's clear that the designers expected players to not use all abilities every game and perhaps even not in every book.

Dude, you can do whatever you want. If you play to two of a mages strengths and ignore one you probably just have a really fine point on your book focus. Is the Joktari rushmaster a bad book? It completely ignores two of its abilities entirely in favor of killing you right away. Some mages are easier to plan there abilities, or they just happen anyway when doing things like attacking  (battle skill for instance) or summoning creatures (quick summoning, blood reaper, or pet) or are passive and happen always (poison immumity, deflect, and smoldering curses are decent examples). Sometimes its easy to account for one or note of these just by being a mage who's going to attack or curse. Sometimes its not as easy to account for all of them.
Bottom line build what you want. Ive got a priestess full of curses and malacoda abd its a freaking blast!
