So far this book is an alpha version, but would go as follows, ideally:
T1: 19 mana - ring of ocean's depths, echo of the depths
T2: 15 mana + 1 on spawn - deploy gerard, nullify and move 1
T3: 10 mana + 1 on spawn + 1 on gerard - deploy thrasher, cast thrasher, leather
T4: 10 mana +1 on spawn + 1 on gerard - deploy thrasher, cast thrasher, qc trap
T5 10 mana +1 on spawn + 1 on gerard - cast sea with thrashers, qc viridian lance in corner
T6: 9 mana + 2 on spawn + 2 on gerard

I have no doubt that this will never go as planned, as with may games lol, but that's the idea so far

naiya mid to late game to cast songs, dissolve, rust, etc
have the skeletons do their thing
I would ideally like to have chant of rage on an enemy with blightheat as the target, they attack, then he counterstrikes then gets to attack with his +4 to effect roll and has the bonus from the viridian lance

Ballad of courage is for gerard. If i need another quick hit he can run in and also get more gold for my pirates. He is als9 q good battlefury target for this reason too!

I read about using shift ench. to move songs around. Thought i would give it a whirl and see how it works

I also left out healing madrigal :/ That will/should be useful sice im planning to play all 4 sharks in 2 turns

To my knowledge, the ring does not give you the benefit when you spawn as it says only when your mage cast a spell, same with gerard, but that's not too big of a deal

Also, having some songs out to reveal when they try to get rid of the spanwpoint is ideal but trying to find the time and mana for them atm is a struggle

that's the idea anyway, like I said this is an alpha and I am going to do some editing after playing a few games this weekend.
I know i need anti flyer tech, gravikor or maim wings. I also want to throw in an agony or 2.
Since the skellies will get -1 from the sea and +1 from the lance, agony will be useful. It also helps keep them alive longer since enemies also get -1 die from the sea. So i could potentially have an enemy or enemies with -3 melee while in a sea while having skelly pirates with base attack and aquatic pirates with +2 attack all on my init.

Constructive criticism welcome and hopefully we can play a game this weekend:)

Gerard is an interesting creature which will get better as more Pirates and Soldiers get released.

He has a built-in mana ability which is better than a General's Signet Ring but not as good as a Crystal/Flower, so I'd say this ability is worth about 4 mana.
That means you're paying just 9 mana for a 4 dice, 11 life, 2 armor creature with the ability to gain piercing and/or additional mana in combat.
Certainly a creature to bring out early and build around.

I was wondering why you chose to include a Dispel Wand and not a Mage Wand ?
Same sbp's but mage wand is so much more versatile.

You have quite a few push effects already but a Force Wave - Coral Barrier combo could be lethal.

Not sure if this would fit your thematic build but the Pillar would be another nice addition of course, considering all your push effects.

I actually updated this yesterday or the day before and i can post it when i get home.

But yes gerard seems like a very cool vreature to work with and build around.

And i chose the dispel wand to try to capitalize on cards like marked for death, poisoned blood, chant of rage, etc. I think in my current version i replaced ot with an elemental wand to save sbps. But mage wand is on my radar. And the pillar always seems like a good choice lol. Im not sure if all of the push effects would make it less effective since im not keeping creatures still?

I changed up a few things.
Renewing Rain got cut bc i needed the 3 sbps and I also have extinguish.  I added gravikor bc its amazing and anti flyer tech will do this book some good!  I had 2 agonies but had to cut 1 for sbps.  Reveal magic is still in my radar of "I may not want this in here" but I'm still eager to see how this card works for me. 

Mort might have to go. He would do great with the other skellies but 8spb is a huge investment.but since he is a soldier i can get him at a discount with gerard...we'll see

Ring + tsunami...3 up push and +1 for each attack. Heck yeah!

Thrashers seem pretty squishy but from other books ive made im very happy with them! Healing madrigal in their zone, sea, and lance..they can have 5 dice, "aegis" 1, and can bleed and heal every turn. Not a bad investment. The harpooner can also melee 4 dice i believe if in a sea too?

Also, Rum and Bones doesn't sound that  metal, but it sounds more metal than A Pirate's Life For Me and it's also thematically accurate

Thats not a bad idea! Im gonna get on octgn in a bit to play with this. I'll try it both ways if i have time.

I added the shaman as support for the thrashers.  Vampiric on these guys is always nice and the extra bleeds will do wonders! Plus having an extra creature for support will be great.
I added purify because...purify. It can help out in a lot of cases from condition markers to unwanted enchantments
I added the amulet over a mana crystal only because the extra mana at the beginning will be very helpful to get my engine going.  This could change to a crystal in the future, though.
I wanted more attack spells and ways to deal with flyers.  I originally thought of putting a fireball or lightning bolt in here but decided on 2 jet streams because of the extra dice vs flying, ethereal, and they are just overall cheaper mana wise.

I added swell because it's a cheaper option to take out a battleforge and will not eat up one of my surging waves.

This book seems to be very mana heavy so that is one reason I may change to the crystal later, but it is also why I have so many low cost spells and novice spells like power strike, knockdown, shift ench, extinguish, mend, lesser tel, force push, glancing blow, brace yourself, jet stream, etc.

Fortified position is on my radar since most of the pirates dont have armor.  If I end up adding that I will make room for another shift enchant, 1 for songs and the other for the zone enchant.

I may also add gator toughness. I usually throw that on the shaman to keep him around longer. If i need it then i'll add it but as of now im hoping to squeeze by without it.
