Jimilia Necro vs Biblo Gen Con 2016 Necro!
« on: March 02, 2017, 03:00:23 PM »
What does everyone think of Biblo's gen con necro compared to millie's? Which do you think is "better" per say. I can see millie rushing in and killing the creatures, but the meditation necro can possibely outlast. Thoughts?

The Breakdown
Biblo's book: http://forum.arcanewonders.com/index.php?topic=17073.0
Sp Biblo's book is very good against most other necro's: no drain soul, ghoul rot, etc. He has fewer creatures than you would want on octgn so as you can see in my iteration, I added some. Yeah Gravikor may be missing, but most flying things the archer and demon take care of and the ones they can't get maim wingsed. More options than Jimmilia's book imo and can outlast in a untimed match.
Millie's Book:http://forum.arcanewonders.com/index.php?topic=17613.0
So this book is very interesting. The basic plan is to get out knights and do the dmg. Enfeeble and agony (?) the creatures and just murder the mage. Blightheart ignores the guards and gets those conditions on. Vs a Tank you have to be careful, DO NOT play the removal game. Cloak up early and curse the heck out of them.

Disarm is for war guantlets usually.
I'm actually on the fence about the amulet. I might replace it with willowisp or something.
I added a few more creatures since on octgn games can go really long.
1 brace just really good and sometimes can save you.
Etheral is a problem and i want to add some form of counter.

On octgn, I honestly believe a deck like this needs at least 1 seeking and 2 dispels.
I do not want to run 4 ghoul rots, WAY too many imo.
Moonglow I know millie runs, but I find 2 sbp on two chant of rage are just better and more versatile.

I think you should post (publicly, not in a private message) links to the spell book card lists.

As for your question, both are good. I think Jimillia's Necromancer is highly focused and aggressive, and has a high probability of winning a small tournament. But Biblofilter's Necromancer is more versatile, has fewer bad match-ups (or has a better chance of winning its bad match-ups), and is better in a bigger tournament where you're likely to compete in a wider variety of matches and/or against tougher competition. And head-to-head, I imagine Biblofilter's Necro could probably withstand the early barrage and win a long match to the death, while Jimillia's might win a timed match.

Millie wins times most likely, she's more attacks and moves faster. Un- timed Lars could outlast.

Personally that's why I dislike timed play. One player could better in a vastly superior position, but BC of time they lose. It's one of the reasons why I'm unsure how your guys grizz would do on octgn, people like playing really slow.

I have no idea what you are talking about...
Who is millie and what is her book? You were talking about it in another thread and tried to rebuild it or something. And how exactly does biblos necro look like and what are the differences?

Honestly if you start such a topic you should post both books and start telling the world your observation in how are different. Then you should ask for more.

Sorry for this answer, but I like reading through this forum and think about content more then solving riddles and searching for hints on what is the topic.

When I'm able to reach my computer I'll post the links and my thoughts. I wanted to get the community's initial thoughts the ln update it later, but that was not the best idea.

He is referring to my friend Jimillia. She's not on the forums much. Players in my area play a bit different than players on OCTGN. This has been of some interest to our friend Reddicediaries. 8)

I'll note Littlenog and Devilsvendetta do well enough on OCTGN. Just as online players have done well in love tournaments.

They are both great players, no doubt about that.
My main point is in Charlotte you guys know what your facing usually so you build your books around that. On octgn, you have to be prepped for every situation. You won't just use 60-70 SBP you could you almost every card in your book. I don't think Millie would want to run 4 ghoul rots on octgn for that very reason.
Yes, Charlotte fascinates me. They don't play the removal game, I do.

Where is this love tournament happening? And what are the rules exactly? Healing charm for everybody?

I am still skeptical of your theory reddice. The charlotte group has a lot of skill among them, and they're big enough that there's enough variation in their spellbook design that they will probably have to be ready for anything too. They have the same amount of access to the entire card pool as we do on Octgn. This means that "they know what they're facing" probably isn't enough to explain the major differences in spellbook design like the 4x ghoul rot. And it might not even be entirely true; they have enough people and people vary their spellbooks enough that they might not always know what they're facing.

@Silverclawgrizzly What's your explanation for all this?

Only if you play slowly. But nevertheless at the end of a match you know for sure who is the King, not just by counting numbers or points, but by the dust on the ground of the arena.

You can always use the Timer function on Octgn to limit the Planning or Action Phase.
Akiro, I have never prayed to you before. No one will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that one stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Akiro... so grant me strength! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you!

@Sailor Vulcan you're both sort of right. We do have a good variety of Ayers in Charlotte and many of us vary our books a fair bit. We also read the forums, steal good ideas, and ignore the rest. Not to mention Charlotte has judged Gen Con for two years, we have the spell lists for every book played there saved too and we watched those books played first hand. So yes we have good diversity.

However Charlotte is just Charlotte and we do start to understand our own styles and trends. We also care VASTLY more about being able to compete with each other than what's going on anywhere else. Tunnel vision does exist. If you got some hot new idea we haven't seen you'll likely get a fee wins on us.....ONCE.
