Let's talk Light of Dawn
« on: January 17, 2017, 04:37:15 PM »
I have been staring at this card since i got my PvS and i haven't been able to bring myself to use it until last night. I put together a priest that ran clerics and metatron, with some temples thrown in. Let me tell you that if the effect die is on your side these little ladies are worth the weight in gold! They hand out dazes like candy, and with a little luck, (and maybe malakis basilica) the stun chance on the ranged attack can be a huge swing!
I ran 2 of them, with a handful of DBIs and Asyran clerics (to help heal ehren) and with a gator toughness they can stick around for a while. 2 armor ten life is pretty awesome. I don't know that id make one my holy avenger, but they make a really great little shock troop with an equal daze chance on both attacks. Anyone else have better or worse luck with them?
Either way if you haven't tried them yet givem a shot. You might be surprised

That is an excellent idea to run Ehren and Metatron with these ladies.  They become the big "must kill" threats on the board and these clerics just get to rock the damage.  Have you tried backing them up with Artemis?  Malakai's Basilica is a must include with that setup and probably a backup copy as well!

Yea my first attempt with light of dawns I ran them with Knights of the red helm.  It was really fun focusing down he big creatures and than just swarming the Mage.  I could see using noble vanguard to defend them too.   And litterally just run a swarm of some meaty lvl 2 creatures with any of the PVS set and it's pretty scary.   The last time I had them plus my paladin with a battle forge keeping me equipped with some of my tools and just being aggressive.  Supporting them when necessary.   Malakais basilica is a must if running them and the sword.  Such a nice combo.   So many good cards in this set.

Also really cool that they have the ethereal attack as well. Stun and daze chance allows for more setup and additional time for support.

With priests they fit very well, and combine very well in the general strategy of priests (daze and stun them, so they wouldn't kill you while they die from the burns).
I tried them with a paladin, and dazing your challenged enemy reduce the risk from their rerolling against your paladin.

If at first glance they seem weak, it is because it is easy to underrate the daze condition.

Light of Dawn is that creature you cast as a second or third support role. It's not doubt a great creature! Usually I want Light of Dawn to be the least threatening by having Alandell/Ehren/Griffins etc on the field. Giving her the HA usually means other players don't want to take her out in that strategy.

They also provide a lot of utility with the Temple of Asyra.
If the opponent gives you time, you can put mana on the temple
If the opponent gets in your face you put down the Basilika and they can fight

And if you ever get out the Dragon they can activate her, which is also nice.
