No she is not. For the same reason the necromancer&warlocks are not dark creatures. Probably ruled this way for balance and preventing some combo's.
EG: All holy attacks would be too strong on the necro/warlocks.
This is why the warlord is also not a soldier and they decided it's bad to make a necro/mage non-living.
