Hey Kanedio, just some thoughts:
  • If you're planning on physically attacking as much as it looks like you are then you're probably going to want some surging waves and/or acid balls. If you don't hav ethem then maybe a Knockdown and another Rust will suffice.
  • I'd go down to one agony
  • You're really going to want more ghoul Rots and Magebanes. They seem to be the main strategy for whittling your opponent down, so you'll want to backups for when they get removed.
  • I find that enfeeble replicates Force Crush pretty well without the commitment. Without the Crush you'll free up some points, unless it's part of your strategy to win, in that cast you'll need more :)
  • I'd suggest Wand of Healing instead of Purify
  • Maybe a Magewand for multi dissolve/explodes and teleports?

That's what I have from a quick glance, most of it was pretty solid. Do you have all the expansions?

Thanks for the tips u gave to me intangible. I have all the expansions so adding more acid balls andstuff wont be a problem.that force crush isn t thta necessary i'd say...it's just a cool card i wanted to use and 2 more direct damage plus restrained and unmovable which are good...BUT u had a great point telling me that it is expensive and, man, that costed a lot in terms of spell points i was hoping to retrieve magebane s and ghoul rot's via curse weaving,or do u think it wont be enough?considering my 3 enchanter s wardstones? and what do u think i should do in case of a swarming opponent? planning to make treasure of your tips and repost a better version of the book btw :)

Hi there! I hope I can add to the help you're receiving as well. Some things I noticed.

The thing about curse weaving is that the thing you are trying to get back won't come back unless the creature dies. Ergo unless you use it on a familiar, Magebane won't be getting weaved any time soon. As for ghoul rot it can be countered with regrowth, so you don't have to dispel it and any ward stones you have played won't matter as much.

Wardstones, though they are awesome, without serserix you have to sacrifice a cursing action to drop one, and once the fight is on your doorstep you might not have time to drop all three.

On the subject of adramalech. Are you playing him very often? He is a huge mana sink and I find that if you do play him you don't get a chance to play much else as he dies without support. Maybe if you find that you use him often then alright but if not you may be better off pulling him and adding a different demon. Save some points add mana for the cursing you seem to wanna do.

I'm with intangible on the force crush, prohibitively expensive and commitment heavy for a 9 channel mage.

You might consider serserix the imp familiar if you do pull adramalech. I've used him a bunch and he's pretty awesome. Nothing like slinging 3 curses in a round.

Maybe swap one sectarus for a lash of hellfire just for the option of doing the fire damage. Warlords and druids hate it!

Just a few thoughts, hope it helps and good luck!

All of Romeo's points are valid. It's ultimately up to you on whether you want to run Adramalech or Sersiryx, they do completely different things.

Adramalech (along with Ring of Fire) might be a plausible answer to swarms. If you are trying to chip away at your opponent with curses and they're attacking you a growing number of creatures then eventually they'll out race you. You may want to lay off the curses for a couple of turns if you see your opponent casting so many creatures, then save that mana for Adramalech because he eats foxes for fun. Once the man threat is out of the way you can transition back to your win strategy.

Enchanter's Wardstones won't protect your enchantments forever, but they may protect them on the round that you cast the stone. After that they're just useful for gaining major mana economy. I don't particularly like to summon them in the opening, instead I'll cast them right after or before I reveal an enchantment I want to keep around. Counting your opponent's mana for the current and following round is crucial to making such a strategy work.

As far as Mage Bane and Ghoul Rot go, they won't be curseweaved if your opponent dispels them, So you'll need the extra copies for that. If you think that one creature will live by one health then Chains of Agony isn't the worst option out of Sectarus since it will finish them off and then you can curse weave. Finally, an AMAZING curse to return to your hand is Rise Again, I've both won and lost games that swung wildly in someone's favor because of that card.

Glad I could help, thanks for joining us on the forums  ;D

One thing i realize in my last tournament was how metas could be different for different places. I defeat my oponent just because he spends quarter of his spellpoint on things that would help him to face spells common in his area but he was not able to overcome my "light" armor set. It was like having a Samurai vs. Armored Knight match.

All points mentioned here are valid, but i would also advise for you to try evaluate those points in relation to your enviroment and also, dont be afraid of making mistakes. Greatest discoveries cames from mistakes. Well, sometimes it is also a greatest emberasment but it is worth the risk and fun :)

I would like to ask about [mwcard=MW1Q33]Wind Wyvern Hide[/mwcard]. Are Wind attacks common in your area?

Right now, only wind attack i really experienced in the area is from [mwcard=MW1A09]Jet Stream[/mwcard] and maybe [mwcard=MW1C40]Whirling Spirit[/mwcard] in my younger days ( :D ).

I would probably go with [mwcard=FWQ10]Storm Drake Hide[/mwcard] and still probably leave it home in exchange of [mwcard=MW1E36]Rhino Hide[/mwcard] with combination of your [mwcard=MW1Q09]Enchanter's Ring[/mwcard].

My second question will be about [mwcard=DNQ09]Wand of Healing[/mwcard]. Its 3 spellpoints :)

My third is 3 [mwcard=MWSTX1CKJ01]Enchanter's Wardstone[/mwcard]. Wouldnt 2 be enough?

My last. If you cast curses on enemy creatures, [mwcard=MW1Q09]Enchanter's Ring[/mwcard] didnt provide discount for that. There is a "trick" that you are casting curses on your creature and then you use [mwcard=MWSTX1CKE04]Enchantment Transfusion[/mwcard] and transfer all those curses at once and reveal them on that enemy creature.

That's a heck of a book Kanedio. Have a match, give us a battle report, and then we can offer some more suggestions. Excited to hear how it goes!  :D

Similar to Magebane and Ghoul Rot, how about [mwcard=MWBG1E02]Plagued[/mwcard]?  It will ping you too, since you intend to stand toe-to-toe with your prey, but the symmetry is broken against mages that would try to outnumber you with living creatures (like Beastmasters).  Also, at the very least [mwcard=MW1E27]Marked for Death[/mwcard] gives you an extra die, and helps out your Blood Reaper and other demons as well.

@Boocheck: The Enchantment Transfusion trick is ok, but I don't think that it's all that you make it out to be. You do save a mana by casting the enchantments FD on your own creatures with the ring, but you spend one extra mana to transfuse each to the enemy creature. The number of actions used also increase by doing this... one for each enchantment (as usual) and one more for the ET that you cast. However it is the timing of the enchantment actions that make a big difference: Cast them early when you are far from the enemy, and then there will be no delay in casting the enchants once you get close to the enemy, when you probably would rather be doing other things.

With enchanters ring and ring of curses, it's a very good play.  You can enchant your own creature with a ghoul rot and plagued and avoid mage bind costs.  It will also bypass a nullify, which many strategies have.

Excellent points, I agree. I was reflecting about my experiences with the Necro and non-living creatures. With demons and a more aggressive mage, things are different.

It also will avoid extra costs related to Harshforge Plate, I believe.
