And the cultures of each nation of etheria are loosely based on their real life counterparts!

France=Westlock
Belgium=Salenia
Spain/Portugal=Sortilege
West Germany=the Darkfenne
East Germany=Straywood/Wychwood

Not sure about the Anvil Throne and the Bloodwave. I feel like one of them should be Poland, but I'm not sure which. Bloodwave might be Denmark but on the wrong side of the continent.

Haha, I'm from Belgium and I do get why you call Salenia Belgium. The buffer-country between France, Enland and Germany if one of them wants a new war. (19th-20th century Europe)

My list would be:

Salenia: Belgium
Westlock: France
Sortilege: England
Straywood: Sweden
Germany: Ivarium
Darkfenne/Bloodwave: It's just not nice to name someone here :p
Johktari: old fashioned Indians --> Amerika

Don't forget that some of these nations of Etheria might be based on past versions of countries in real life, not present ones. now that I think of it, the blood wave does seem kind of like Vikings or something.

Why do you think Sortilege is England?

Now that I think of it if sortilege can combine both Spain and Portugal then there's no reason that Westlock can't be based on both England and France.

I'm guessing that sortilege is based more on Portugal than Spain, but I'm not sure since I don't know much about Portugal.

I kind of assumed Sortilege was France, especially since it's the French word for "magic."  Then again, all the cities in Sortilege seem to have Irish names, so... a little confusing. I would expect England to be an island nation that hasn't shown up yet.

I was thinking about London: harry potter, Merlin, ...

But I do think france fits very good as well.
 "Les grands maîtres français qui pense ils sont très chic et plus bon des autres.  :P " Sortilege does sound very french.

And Westlock does sounds more like Camelot, so maybe it's more:

Westlock: England
Sortilege: France

In that case, I bet there's a island nation that's kind of like Spain.
