Enchantments more Vulnerable than Equipment?
« on: November 16, 2014, 02:11:53 PM »
Hello everybody! New poster, but I've been following this forum for a while. Let me just say that you guys are awesome and by far the most mature and polite community I've ever seen!

So... Do you guys think that enchantments are easier to get rid of than equipment? Are dispels more valuable than dissolves?

Enchantments are more vulnerable for a couple of reasons.

1. Dispel works at 0-2 zones away where as Dissolve is 0-1. Thus I have to get closer to use Dissolve.
2. Nullify will block Dissolve. It won't stop Dispel.
3. Not really more vulnerable but Arcane Corruption will turn your Enchantments against you. There's not an anti-Equipment Curse....yet.

Also Harshforge Monolith can tax enchantments. Also, dispel is arcane, so all wizards get it cheep, but of the original mages, only Water wizards got dissolve in school.
I can take the fun out of anything. It's true; here, look at this spreadsheet.

Yeah Purge Magic is a really good example with it's action efficiency. Stack a creature with equipment, and your opponent can only dissolve one at a time. Throw a bunch of enchantments on a creature and your enemy uses Purge Magic, you're at an action disadvantage and possible mana disadvantage. Also Seeking Dispel is another anti-enchantment spell to keep in mind.

But Enchantment Transfusion give enchantments a life on there own!

Steal enchanment are probably more usefull than steal equipment.

Enchantments are harder to protect than equipment, but they require less upfront investment, your opponent is uncertain as to what they are until they are revealed, and they are more flexible. You can't use Mage Staff to improve the attacks of your non-mage creatures, but you can use Bear Strength on either your mage or another creature.
