Core Spell Tome 3

I think we need a 3rd Core Spell Tome with the spells that are often and commonly included in pretty much any spellbook and if you build more than 3 spellbooks, you runs out of them.

Here is what I would like to see:

2x Acid Balls
2x Disarm
2x Dissolve
2x Dispel
1x Geysers
2x Brace Yourself
1x Leather Boots
1x Leather Gloves
1x Purify
2x Force Push
1x Teleport
2x Battle Fury
1x Force Hammer


What is your list? Keep it to 20 cards. It would be some kind of "Core Spell Booster" instead to be a full Spell Tome.

I don't know if that is really necessary, everyone will have different cards, just make paper place holders and move them around between the decks, so you can keep lot's built and if you play one just change the paper for the card
Depending how many decks you want to run you always will run into troubles.

I know everyone will have a different list. That's the point. To see what cards people lack when they build multiple books. Might also help Arcane Wonders to pin points what would be needed in a futur Spell Tome or an expansions or OP kit or whatever.

What i need is a Mega Spell Tome 

I currently have 10 spellbooks. In those im using the following proxies:

I have bought 3 core sets, one of each core spell tome and two of each expansion and i "only" have 10 spellbooks: 4 Wizards (Air/Fire/Earth/Water), 2 Druids, 1 Beastmaster, 1 Priesstress, 1 Forcemaster and 1 Warlock. The numbers could have been higher, if i had´nt made several suboptimal choises based on my card availability rather than what my preferred choises.

When i go to a game night i can generally bring 3-4 spellbooks almost without proxies. But if someone likes to borrow a spellbook or a new player comes by id like to have full spellbooks without proxies. In my Beatmaster book 10 out of 60 Cards are proxies - when we finally get together i like to play Mage Wars, not playing with my spellbooks.

Anyway im still missing the following spellbooks:
Necromancer
Priest
Johktari Beastmaster
Adramelech Warlock
Anvil Throne Warlord
Bloodwave Warlord

Knowing that i can´t build a book without 10+ proxies or having to make what i consider suboptimal choises, just stops me from Building and playing some of the new mages.

and id like to have a couple of apprentice spellbooks also.

I run 3 Wizards Towers in my Air Wizard book and 2 in each of the others. If Wizard Tower really is overpowered i guess i should run 4 in each 

Spending more money on Mage Wars could be a solution

I heard recently that core spell tome 1 is being phased out.  That could be wrong, but I got it from two places.  In any case, What I'd like to see is a single core spell tome that includes enough cards to build any one legal (or at least reasonable) spellbook, when combined with the core set.  They do a good job of this in the expansions, with most cards including 4 or 6 copies depending on level.  If they would simply look at each spell from the core set and ask "how many copies of this card would we include if it came out in an expansion today?", then subtract what's already in the core set, and put the rest in a box that they sell for, say $50.  The current system doesn't allow you to get, say 6 Thunderrift Falcons (which one quite obviously might want for a *single* spellbook) without either three core sets, two cores and 2 st1's or one core and 4 st1's.

Just to be clear, we have no plans to phase out Core Spell Tome 1. If we were to decide and change our product line-up, we would inform the community immediately. Just wanted you all to know.
