Warlock Vampiric Beatdown - Ahlano
« on: August 12, 2014, 03:16:54 PM »
Hi :3
Its been some time since ive posted... so ill go ahead leave this here...
Its a beatdown warlock deck... built with the core set + forged in fire...

Theres room for work and you can try and adapt it to your style.. maybe swap adramelech for sardonix...
or get in there a battleforge...

As for how to use it... I usually go for first turn Enchanters Ring + Cheeta Speed... and after that... Necropian Vamp or Adramelech... Very Much inspired of the  "Lord of Terror Bashcon Beatdown Build" by Piousflea... wich i suggest you go and read... http://forum.arcanewonders.com/index.php?topic=7591.0... its pretty well done... and gives you a great idea of how to work around different situations...

In this build, I swap the Dark Pact Slayers for the pretty new Blood Demos from Forged in Fire... They seemt o survive a bit better having the vampiric trait on their attacks..and when made Blood Reapers with the Warlocks Abbility... can get up to +3Melee.. swinging at 6 dice... just as the Blood Reaping Dark Pact Slayers... although they have piercing... soo.. up to you...

Sersyrix... is lovely... :3
Also if you do go for the Sardonix way... let me suggest Altar of Sacrifice...because:

1- Its one of the only ways to buff Sardonix (cant think of the others right now, other than marked for death on a target)... Since Sardonix is NonLiving he cant get bearstrengh and many other enchantments...

2- Its a good way to kill sardonix if you yourself are dying and cant handle the -2 Life each Turn..

3- He is level 8... 8!... that means.. Sacrificing him in the altar will give the creature of your choice +8 Melee and + 8 Piercing... use them well... make sure the attack will go in... no defenses... guards... or blocks... try and quickcast the altar right before using it...so he doesnt know its comming...

Any suggestions? Ideas? Questions? let em come...

Honestly you're fine with just the core set and FiF I've found. This looks like a beat em up Warlock book. Only thing I'd recommend is a Bears Strength and maybe a Mongoose Agility. Other than that looks good.

I actually stopped using Bear Strength that much in my beatdowns, I only drop it on Vampiress so that she heals more on her attacks due to higher damage.

Something Id recommend is Moloch's Torment.. you dont have a neck slot equipment, and once you have an opponent cursed it creates a "game clock" of decaying health.  Its especially good with Ghoul Rot, Mage Bane, or Arcane Corruption.  Its also useful for dealing with lower health creatures passively, like Zombies or Fellelia because you can Curseweave the curse on them back after they die.

A useful card for this style build, though not in forged or core set is Eagle Claw boots... just a note to keep in mind down the road.  I typically use Leather Gloves for extra cheap armor and Eagleclaw on my boot slot.

Do reflex boots instead of eagle claw, it makes things really hard.

Yeah thinking of droping bear strenght a bit maybe... Since i wanna try sardonix more... And molochs torment always goes unnoticed with me xD... I forget it exist.. And sounds great with curse weaving... Recycle Warlock...great ideas ty again... Yesterday i tried fun suicide warlock with sardonix  out and idol of pestilence... Had 3 rots on enemy mage... Was fun...somehow managed to outlive my opponent..

I'd keep one of those Bear Strengths at least but that's me. Three Rot on an enemy Mage will tend to give you an edge in surviving. Especially if you go heavy with the fire attacks and burns then.

Sardonyx sucks, there is nothing he does but reducing your life. His attacks are not vey scary, there are better ways to get the same amount of dices. He does not even have the flying trait :(

I'd love to play him but he is plain bad :/ no real threat to the opponent, just a big ball of meat (well, bones)

Awww such hate on sardonix.... But yeah he is abig pile of bones... Very...situational... A pretty way of saying bad...
Tho he does have 3 great things... 31hp...Zone Rot..and great traits...nonliving.. Unstoppable...psych inmunity...
And on a side note he will kill controlling mage fast... So games are faster xD... Faster games means more time to play more

Don't get me wrong, I'd really go for him - if he was any good. Just played two games against my girlfriend with a skelly soldier Necro and I had him in my Spellbook to have an alternative for Skellyswarm, but he really did nothing but running around and reducing my life :D

Skeletal Knights are much more worth, they have an defense, also a 5 dice quick attack and cost far less! True, the rot is quite nice but rot on 8+ doesn't happen that often (As she was playing the Priestess it would not matter that much even if it occurs...)
