Adramelech Warlock Swarm Book
« on: July 12, 2014, 02:19:39 AM »
Since everybody is posting their new Warlord spellbooks (including me), I thought I'd give the new Warlock some attention. I threw this together in about an hour today and tried it out. Let me know what you think. Only played it once but I tried swarming and it worked pretty well.

So here's what I did. This was when the book had 4 Wildfire Imps and didn't have any Poisoned Blood.

Turn 1: 19 mana
QC: Pentagram in starting corner (14 mana)
FC: Move up and cast Harmonize on it (4 mana)

Turn 2: 10 mana
Deployment: Wildfire Imp (3 mana)
No QC.
FC: Another Imp (5 mana)

Turn 3: 11 mana
Deploy: An imp (3 mana).
FC: Move over 2 into FC (my opponent had stayed in their zone the whole time).
QC: Ignite on enemy Mage. (2 mana)

Then I teleported the imps into that zone and attacked the Mage with both for 3 dice each.

Turn 4: 13 mana
Deploy: A 4th and final Imp. (1 mana).
QC: Marked for Death on Mage. (6 mana).
FC: Fireshaper Ring (3 mana).

Used last mana to bring teleport 3rd imp over into Mage's zone (the Burn had stayed on).

Turn 5: 11 mana
No deploy.
QC: Fireball on Mage (8 mana). Ends up rolling 9 dice b/c of Fireshaper Ring, Marked for Death, and her ability that gives enemies Flame +1 while having a curse on them.
FC: I had prepared another Ignite in case the other burn went out and I didn't get one with Fireball (in case of Elemental Cloak or something). Thankfully that didn't happen, and since this was my last one, I didn't want to use it. So I did nothing with my FC.

As you can see this gets two Imps into their zone by turn 3 rolling 3 dice each and you can bring over another one every turn. Just gotta keep those burn tokens on ;) And curses. While I'm on the subject, Marked for Death is really amazing with this new Warlock.

Anyways, let me know what you guys think. Probably gonna take out both Explodes and just add Dissolves instead. Probably take out Moonglow Amulet and add in two more Ignite.

What about blood fire helmet? I am fully interested, why you not include this equip into your opening. :)

If you are using the imps bloodfire helmet is a must, no need to run both the lash and sectarus. Plus why sacrificial altar you are not using enough creatures to make sacrificial altar worth the time and mana to cast it. (Just my friendly suggestion)

I agree it's a great play. I should have perhaps done it in place of the Marked for Death. And then done the Marked for Death the next round.

Agreed on all points. I had Sardonyx in here initially, which is why the Altar is in there. I took him out, but accidentally left the Altar in. I'll be removing it. Since it was the first time I played this book, I wasn't sure if I was going to use the Lash or Sectarus, but the Lash is definitely my go to weapon. Sectarus should probably come out as well.

I also need to give the new Warlock a try, she seems pretty fun from what I've seen so far.

The build looks relatively solid.  If I were you I might bump up the # of infernian scourgers and maybe add some flame imps.  Maybe cut a fireball, sectarus, and the explodes.

I see you have access to both battleforge & pentagram, which I like.  Maybe the Adramalech Warlock can pull off having both in one book; I've tried it with the Warlord and I just can't justify the space for battleforge.

What was your opponent doing?

He was a Priestess. He did something like this:

Turn 1: 20 mana
QC: Sunfire Amulet (14)
FC: Temple of Asyra (4)

Turn 2: 14 (1) mana
QC: Harmonize on Temple (10)
FC: Asyran Cleric (5)

Turn 3: 15 (3) mana
Deploy: Guardian Angel (6)
QC: Hand of Bimshalla (1)

Used creatures to guard against the Imps. Put on armor on turn 4. I managed to get her down to like 4 health left but then she just started using healing spells and gained it back.

At that point my offense pretty much stalled b/c I was out of Imps. I think I would have been fine against most spellbooks besides a Priestess. Actually I probably would have been fine if I had Poisoned Blood or Deathlock.

Ok, what if his oppo was a super aggresive? Can he shift gears with some shorter swarm application or he just abandon (not sure about this word) his swarm strategy as a whole? I can see  some small cheap creature with intercept which will buy one more round for build up enough momentum for swarm builds somewhere in designers desk...

I am fun of zerg rush, of milion of ants moving a mountain. I am just building just a Warlord book for this so i really welcome any kind of swarm strategy. Lord, did you have some game against a super agresive opponent? I would really like to hear experience and oppinion from a more skillful players too :)

I haven't had that experience yet. I'd imagine that I would need to change a few things in my strategy if facing a Forcemaster, for example. Hopefully I get the opportunity to test this book more soon. So far it's been inconclusive to me.
