Our preview of Gurmash, Orc Sergeant is up! You can find it >>HERE<<. Time to crack the whip. What commands do you want to issue?

In a development that shocks no one, we get a shout-slinging familiar. I'd say it'll see play.

Like Heart of Gravikor though, the legendary clause is bothersome, but at least I won't have to race this out against Paladin.

This looks really solid to me. For two mana more than timber wolf you get
- Comparable, perhaps slightly weaker, attack (1 fewer dice, plus 9+ bleed)
- Familiar with 1 mana per turn and a good selection of spells

The fact he's got access to battle orders is a nice touch as it means he's never useless: presumably he can cast those even if he 'readies' another spell, too, so you don't lose so much if he choose to ready something and the opportunity to use it is lost. It also means that you don't have to worry so much about running out of mana if you combine him and other spawnpoints.

I'm interested by 'his controlling warlord's battle orders'. Not sure whether to read this as implying the new Warlord also has (different? the same?) battle orders, or  whether he doesn't: if it's the latter, this card could be a nice way to make the current warlord more attractive to play rather than everyone switching to the new one. Cards that play off vet tokens could do the same. Thematically that could make sense too, as it creates a stronger synergy between the Orc Warlord and the Orc Sergeant than the Dwarf Warlord and Orc Sergeant.

What I really want to see now is the spoilers for the new mages.

Agreed.  My predictions:
Dwarven Warlord: different battle orders, some buff for stacking armor or some buff for spamming war machines.  Also, (s)he could have an ability that gives a bonus for zones controlled.

Warlady: Some synergy with demons, and fire attack spells.  Also, rewards for burned opponents and opponents with curses on them.

I'm getting the feeling the warlady might be better than the warlock.

If she has 10 channeling then she will be. Though I'm not really expecting that.

I don't think she'll have Battle Skill though; I'm more inclined to think her damage ability will make it easier to apply burns or be something like Flame +1 trait.

What if she gets +1 melee for each burn on her target!  That might be too strong though...

I'm really digging this guy. Good solid soldier for the Warlords army. He has a very obvious role to fill and should go about doing it very well. I like that there is a solid attacking familiar that won't do down like a chump. Put some Rhino Hide or Bear Strength on him and you got something cool going then.

As for the Female Warlock, you know Aylin that +1 Flame idea isn't the worse one I've heard in terms of powers for her. I like that a lot. I'm eagerly awaiting her release as my best friends wife wants to get into the game using her.

Gurmash certainly looks promising. As others have already mentioned, much will depend on synergy with other cards (the Battle Orders have been mentioned; it would also be interesting whether Gurmash can "use" the Warlord's Horn of Gothos for his Battle Orders or if his usage of them will be restricted to his zone).

I doubt he'll get the benefit from the horn. That'd just be really awesome there.

I doubt that as well. The horn card mentions the Warlord using his ability, not someone else. Granted, the card might not have existed when FvW was shipped, but due to the wording it would IMO warrant a FAQ ruling stating that you can indeed use Gurmash with the horn.

Its MAGE equipment since when can familiars use equipment cards

Since the Dwarven Warlord FORGING Ability ...

The Dwarf Warlord, may Magecast One Equipment spell on each Friendly Soldier creature. If a spell is Dissolved another Equipment spell can be cast to replace it.

I should point out that this is complete speculation.
