Nullify & Cantrips
« on: January 24, 2014, 04:48:37 PM »
Hi guys,

i've checked the previous threads, but i haven't found anything, so i'll ask...  ;D

If the oppo casts Nullify face down on me, andi play Barskin (Druid ench) on me, Nullify triggers and...?

Barskin goes back to my hand or is discarded?

If i have Barskin face down on me and it's 'seeking dispelled', what happens?

Many thx,

G.

It is returned to your spellbook. The only way (at this time) that a cantrip can be taken out of a game is if it is Obliterated. I disagree with the ruling, the sage Arcanus has ruled and so it is.

The codex for "cantrip" vs "counter" is the key.

Cantrip:
Cantrip (Object Trait) Whenever this spell is destroyed or discarded, return it to the owner’s spellbook instead of their discard pile. The Obliterate effect destroys an object and removes it from the game. Obliterate will remove a Cantrip Spell from the game.

Counter:
Counter (Game Term) A spell which has been countered does not resolve. It is destroyed and goes to the discard pile. All costs and actions spent to cast the spell are lost, unless otherwise noted.
