Flying rooted/uprood?
« on: December 08, 2013, 03:14:42 PM »
Can creatures with rooted/uproot gain the flying trait?
For example: can raptor vine (uproot 1) gain the flying trait with eagle wings?

I think the question is:

If a creature with the Rooted trait also has the Uproot trait, and if the mana were paid to Uproot it and if there were already an attached hidden enchantment, that was reveal after the creature was uprooted but before the end of its action phase, could it gain the Flying trait?

Uproot X (Object Trait)
This creature can uproot itself from the ground and move freely. When this creature is activated, you may pay X mana. If you do, it loses the Rooted trait until the end of its Action Phase.

The way I read this trait the answer is yes, now intent that is something totally different...

I believe he would fly while uprooted.  He would just lose the trait every time he was re-rooted.

Just like a creature with flying being moved in and out of a zone effected by Gravikor.

I also assume as long as he has the Flying, he will not regain the Rooted trait.

Flying does not prevent regaining Rooted.. so he would regain Root, then being Rooted would remove his flight.

Interesting, I see why you would go that way. It doesn't make since one way but it does the other way.

Uproot makes rooted void until end of action phase then it regains the rooted ability. Uproot effect is what allows it to fly and uproot also makes it regain rooted. Flying has nothing to do with those 2 traits.

Bleed and bloodthirsty are also like this

From the lost writings of a "radio" outpost far to the south of O-Hi-o. Mages are still deciphering it's meaning, but evidently they've picked out four letters, W, K, R, and P.
