Can a creature attack if it has charm attached? I'm the controller so can the creature attack my creatures?

A charmed creature may attack any legal target. That is to to say if it can fly it can attack fliers and non fliers if it does not fly it can only attack things on the ground. But it may not attack the mage that charmed it.
