Two questions about Fire Shaper ring?

The Fire Shaper ring says it gives the Mage Melee +1 and Ranged +1 for any attack that deals fire damage. If the Mage also has a hell lash of fire which is a melee only it does not add range to it because it doesn't start with a base range ability correct?

Second question:
Does the Fire shaper ring add to the attack of fire attack spells?

The Fireshaper Ring does not grant range to the Lash of Hellfire. It does add to the dice of fire attack spells.

And yes, Fireshaper ring will add +1 Attack dice to an attack spell that deals fire damage.

Remember it will NOT add to zone attack spells.
