Strategy and Tactics / Re: Arena Axioms 1: Opening Summons
« on: July 31, 2013, 04:09:20 AM »
I think, playing a big creature in the beginning is not the best option! You force your Opponent to react on that, and he will! If he's not careless he will try to kill the crit as soon as possible, leaving you with a mana deficit and your best creature gone! Sleep it (bad chances to wake it up without a second crit or loosing an attackspell)! Banish it, Tanglewine it, Pit it, Forcehold it, Teleport it, there are to many ways to deal with a single bady!! Bether is to come up with one or even bether with two mid creatures to get him busy and in this time to arm for the final blow with your Killer! Far more unexpected and less likely to be killed by now!
I've seen it as BM! Two Trolls in the beginning are Horror, they were nearly unstopable and drew the complete atention on them! Finally a Grizzly and the lightning deer left him no chance!! I was at 40 health with this new awesome ring and a regen belt! Awesome!  ;D

General Questions / Burn and Regeneration

In the Upkeep, what comes first? Burn or Regeneration? We had a game, where my Troll would have died if the burn conditions would have been handled first...!  :'(

Okay so far, but what's with the damage barrier?
Does the forcefield prevent damage in this case or not?
I read the posts, but could'nt find a final solution on that! Are you attacked by a damage barrier? Because if, forcefield will deal with it!

By the way, the idea with wall of thorns and force push is quite neat! :)

Spells / Earthelemental
« on: March 07, 2013, 04:53:04 PM »
Hi everyone!
At first i must say that i've not played the Expansion yet! So correct me if i'm totaly wrong!
But this earthelemental looks a bit overpowerd for me....
omg 35 (!!!!) lifepoints, what the...
and this for 20 mana... much less than the Lord of Fire!!
When this creature gets summond it wreaks havock nasty!!
This creature is a superkiller, only can be avoided or banished!
Has anyone experience with it?
What are your opinions?
Thanks folks! :)

Spells / Re: Pentagram
« on: February 01, 2013, 07:40:35 AM »
That's absolutely right!
A Beastmaster with some unicorns (which are "animals", and therefore can be summoned from his lair) is quite cool :)
And by the way, a Timberwolf is not that dull! it's not to expensive and with some cool stuff from Falella a dreadfull creature! Also the Grizzly and the Alpha!
But to stay on the topic, pentagram sucks... Sorry!

But is that so?
Are his creatures weaker than those of the other mages?
I mean except those of the Priestess, she got real nasty stuff to summon... :)

Not very good! You can decide not to pay the revealing cost and than.... You realy heal him...

Spells / Pentagram
« on: January 31, 2013, 07:27:40 AM »
Pentagram says: "Each time a different enemy creature is attacked and damaged by a friendly creature, place 1 mana on pentagram.
Is my mage considered a friendly creature?? Cause if not, how do i get the damn thing running, when my mage (who by the way is the aggressiv Warlock...) could not get mana on this thing...? 1 channeling is worst of all spawnpoints in the game..!
And by the way, what's with Group Heal: "Each friendly living creature..." Can my poor Priestess not heal herself with this spell?
Pleas help me with some clarification!

Spells / Re: Banish!
« on: January 07, 2013, 04:27:06 PM »
Thanks a lot for the ideas! I esteem them very much!
But finally i can't see the advantage of them..

1) End of turn Final Quickcast : Attach Essence Drain
First Quickcast of next turn: Banish
Creature now costs 6 Mana and the Essence Drain can't be removed for three turns
--> Why 6 mana? And i'm not shure if this realy works! In your preparation phase you can chose not to pay the upkeep..
2) Banish their 16-20 Mana creature the turn after they summon it
--> Put it to sleep, fireball or Lightningbolt it!
3) Banish their biggest offensive threat
--> like 2)
4) Banish your own big unit when it is down to a few damage
--> does not help my creature when it comes back weak..
5) Banish an enemy unit and then put a Firetrap or similar spell in the space they will come back in.
--> Thought for this on myself, but 20 (!!) mana for 4 dice of damage..?
6) You banish his pet, send in the troops to maul him and win the day!
--> also like 2)

I don't want to sound annoying, realy, but i don't see the advantage?

But never the less, thanks for trying to light up my dark Banish tunnel... :-P

Alternative Play / Re: Career Mode
« on: January 07, 2013, 03:52:57 PM »
You're absolutely right! We've tried it and it realy not worked!
As you said, in the end the mages get weaker with time and the gap widens...

Spells / Banish!
« on: January 06, 2013, 11:19:50 AM »
Hey guys, is there anyone who has ever used Banish in a game?
I don't get this card... Buying you some time for 16 (!!) mana, and after that, nothing has changed and you face the same problem as before... Two fireballs will do better!! Or Lightningbolts, or everything else...
Every card in this game, has a minor or major meaning! There are a lot of cards whose effects or strategy appears with time played the game. And that's realy awesome!! Thats why i love this game so much!
I remember numerous times, where i thought to my self: " What should that be?... Strange card...Hmm!"
And than, it jumps right into my eye, and hits me with a surprising new advantage!  :P Great!!!
But Banish never did this to me...  :( ... bad Banish...
By the way, Resurrection is the little brother of Banish... I don't get this either!

But than it's impossible to bash a creature into a wall, because there is always an alternative direction than the wall... No matter how you Jet Stream, the creature can always be pushed farther away...

I did find one situation that you could bash with Jet Stream. If target is in the corner zone and you cast it 2 zones away diagonally, then you cannot move the target one zone and be further from the caster. In this situation the spell would bash the target against the corner wall.

This situation could also occur in combination with conjured walls if you arrange them correctly.

Yes, but how often does that occur...
