Minnesota Mage Wars- Looking for Players
« on: March 26, 2013, 11:41:01 AM »
We've got a few people interested in meeting weekly Tuesday evenings around 4pm or so.

We're trying to start up a league play supported by the store.

We meet at Outpost 2000 in Blaine, on Foley Blvd & Northdale Blvd.

Post here if you're interested!

I'd be interested in hearing about any official gatherings / tourneys.  I'm only about 15 minutes away from Outpost 2000, so the location is good.

Stop up next Tuesday!  We'll be up for some games.
So far, we have six players.
Two of us will be up there at 3pm.
The store has the promos in...  It's just up to us to figure out how we structure the tournament/league.

I'm in New Brighton, 6 miles north of the fantasy flight center in Roseville.  Love mage wars, have only gotten to play once...

Looks like we found more players at Village games too.

As of right now we are playing every other week on Fridays at 5 at Village Games in Anoka and every week at Outpost 2000 at 3 on Tuesdays.

If we get enough we can start doing the league so I hope we can get more people.

This Friday starts the Village play.

Hey Ebolav,
If you're only 6 miles north of Fantasy Flight, then you should be close to 35W/694.

To get to Outpost in Blaine, take 35W north to Highway (white) 10, then North on Foley Blvd to Northdale Blvd.  Take a left at the McDonalds right before the stoplight and head through the parking lot to Outpost 2000.  It should be roughly 10 minutes from you.

To get to Village Games, continue on Highway 10 past Foley until you get to 169.  Take a right on 169, then immediately another right at the next stoplight, then take the first right (driveway) after the bridge.  It slants down behind the building complex.  Village is the last shop on the corner.

Hope to play with you soon!

Do you guys only meet on Tuesdays?  I might be able to make it next week...

How late are people there?  I could probably be there around 5 / 5:30.

We are up at outpost on Tuesdays from 330ish to around 830ish
Evil acts are committed every day,
So therefore the world is evil.
I would have to disagree.
Yes, the world may be filled to the brim with darkness,
But, if we try, with a smile or a hug,
We can light it up.

Hey, sorry for the delay, forgot I posted this.  I have a hard time getting out of my house for extended gaming, on account of my 2 year old.  Weekends during the day I'm busy with her, evenings after work I'm mentally friend most nights.  But I will try.

We had some amazing games last night!   It was great meeting Snotwalker!  Hopefully his friend can make it up next time!

A couple notes-
The question regarding order of actions during upkeep was ruled incorrectly.  The initiative-turn player's actions do not automatically resolve first, they have the *choice* to resolve actions in any order they choose. (pg. 11 of rulebook).

Also, we haven't decided yet if we can make it down to Fantasy Flight for additional gaming and players...  Doug, can you talk to some of the playgroup there and see if they'd be willing to come up to Outpost?

Also, any Fantasy Flight Mage Wars players interested in playing some organized tournaments??  Post here!!

Hope to see you all next week!

Thanks Aarrow.  It was great to meet you guys yesterday!  And thanks for the heads-up on the GenCon Tourney slots filling up.  I threw my name in the hat for all 3 days, so we might be in the same pod at least once in the Qualifiers.

I'll let some more guys know about Tues eves at Outpost 2000.

Had some great games against Steve and Freitag (sp?)...  I got some new ideas on FM and Wiz builds I'll be taking a closer look at.

And sorry again to bum you guys out about the Teleport rule...   ;D  Heh heh.

Till next time!
