Questions about Combining Tsunami with Ring of Tides
« on: November 10, 2016, 10:22:30 AM »
I was curious if anyone has use Tsunami with the Ring of Tides with a Siren that has the initiative?  Since the bonuses provided by the Ring of Tides are not a +X trait, I would think that the bonuses would be applied to every target of the attack, with every attack, but I could be wrong.  What do you all think about the combination?

Interesting find...

I think it probably should have given +1 Melee, +1 Ranged and +1 Effect to Hydro Attacks, but as written, yes I think you'll get it, always.

Then again, maybe it was deliberate for that reason.

Ouch  :).  That means a high certainty that Tsunami was meant to attack and push multiple targets multiple times.

It definitely was - there's a whole thread about it on these boards, and it states that in the PVS rule sheet...

So, is it similar to a tactical nuke when used?  Tsunami has to be the most powerful area effect spell in the game, especially when combined with the Ring of Tides.

It has to go in a straight line - it needs a lot of setting up to get optimal use, and probably you opponent walking in to it as well...

You can always cast it on a busy zone that you're in. Push yourself and your friendly creatures in one direction, and push enemy creatures and the wave itself in another direction.

Or just Force Push or Lesser Teleport yourself out of the zone and push everything in one direction away from you...
