Lost Grimoire v1 SPOILERS

Here is the first information I've seen for this product (delayed to "late Q3 2016"):



"The Lost Grimoire contains 108 previously unreleased spells that augment every playstyle. Do the secrets in this ancient tome contain the advantage you need to crush those who oppose you in the Arena? Trample is a new trait found on large creatures that allows them to run over enemies dealing damage as they move and new creatures are included such as Titanodon, Fire Elemental, Messenger of Bim-Shalla and more! Requires the Mage Wars: Arena main game to play."

Trample (keyword)!  Titanodon = more dinosaurs!  And a couple of promos are confirmed (Fire Elemental; Messenger of Bim-Shalla).

*edit* The box cover image is Mordok's Tome, so that's another promo we should expect to find inside this expansion.

Wasn't this support to have a few more of the cards that are already out? I thought I saw somewhere that only about half of the spells would be new. I wonder if I'm confusing it with another product.

I am guessing that we are going to see the Wizard's book come out also... isn't that the same artwork for that card? Mordok's Tome or something like that?

It has promos that were not released in another set before and it has entirely new cards that nobody has seen yet (except playtesters of course). The last statement I remember from Aaron is, that it would be slightly more promos than new cards.

It's a good way to bring promo's to the public without stashing new sets with it. I would be dissappointed if Paladin Vs Siren included 20 promo cards instead of brand new cards.

(In general, I'm not a fan of promo's, but I understand that this is something to distribute on events in America)

As others have mentioned, a goal of this product is to publish a lot of the existing promo cards (e.g. from organized play kits, conventions, kickstarter bonuses, magazines, etc).  It also includes some new non-promo cards.

I thought the consensus with Summoning Circle was that Teleport is almost always better (and certainly more versatile)... Although I guess if you're walled in, you could Enchantment Transfuse a Summoning Circle over a wall via a flying creature, or something like that.

I'd love to see a fixed Ballista, but I assume if it were in this set, we'd have heard something by now. Bloodthirsty Strike and Critical Strike would also be nice to see. In fact, the whole set of promo "____ Strikes" might be nice (Holy, Flame, Lightning... can't remember if there are others). Also Chitin Armor, Vorpal Sword, Gloves of Skill... and maybe some pants aside from Leather Chausses.

There are not. This is probably the one thing I'm dissapointed about. Rest assured I'm working to get some more pants in the next Arena set.

I don't like the current version of Blur. Too cheap and should be level 2. I also don't like leather for every slot, in combination with a battle forge it is too easy to get tons of armor.

Add to this list Kumanjaran Leopard! I recently summoned it on OCTGN and I really enjoyed how he plays.

FYI Fire Elemental is a guarantee given the product announcement (from a vendor). Magma Golem, on the other hand, might be cool, too, but I doubt they'd put both it and the Elemental in the same product.
