I actually found most of my zombie vs zombie matches to be relatively close. It comes down to who strikes first and has better positioning. There's no better defense than simply not being in range of getting attacked. With the burst output of zombies followed up with an attack spell or two, you can often see these matches go by pretty quick.

On a similar note. I personally expect there to be at least one of each mage. The ones that might not be played too much are priest (not as good as priestess with the current cards), priestess (because most people feel those decks will come to time), and the Adramalech Warlock (because she's still unfamiliar to most people).

I'm kinda of expecting an Adramelech Warlock myself. You can get the job done pretty quick with her in some cases. I agree there probably won't be a Priest though. I also don't expect the Johktari Beast Master as people seem down on her too.

I tried making a preist that summoned Demons... didn't work out as well as i planned.

It's dependent on the number of people who enter. In terms of breaks I'm not totally sure on that one but I and the other judges aren't going to mind getting you a snack if need be. We've got breaks in our schedules and we're certainly not wanting anyone to play at less than their best because of hunger.

We're at the finals right now. Just finished round 1! Looks like wizards will take 1st and 2nd this year! 3rd and 4th will be either a forcemaster or a priestess!

Congratulations to our 2015 Gen Con Champion: Nick Tinko!!!!

Nick played some inspired games of Mage Wars going 6-1 this weekend and taking the title of GEN CON CHAMPION!!! Nick played a Wizard(Water)

I applaud your effort sir and it was a true pleasure to see you play. You are a skilled and gracious Mage Warrior!

Congratulations also to:

2nd Place: Tim McCurry-Wizard(Earth)

3rd Place: Greg Dieckhaus-Priestess

4th Place: John Eckert-Force Master

All four of these men fought like mad to earn their spots in the final four. In fact Nick had previously fought all three of them the day before with his only loss of the tournament coming from the Priestess.

I and my friends were very privelaged to judge this tournament and see some very fine battles indeed. We are even more grateful for the oppurtunity to meet so many admirable Mage Warriors from all over the United States in the tournament as well as the international players we met at the Arcane Wonders booth.

I will of course post the spell books of the top four with the exception of the Wizard(Earth) who requested his book not be shared.

Note: If I got anybodies name wrong in terms of spelling I apologize I don't have my notes and paperwork in front of me.
