Mixing Geekdoms in Mage Wars
« on: May 28, 2014, 03:10:09 AM »
Does anyone else normally make reference to other games or fandoms while playing Mage Wars? I'm horrible about it as are a lot in my area. Prime example happened today:

I was playing Stray Wood Beast master Version 5.0 for me against a pesky Necromancer. I'd recently put a second Rajans Fury into my spell book. I had previously cast Marked For Death on the enemy mage and just cast Call of the Wild as my quick cast. During my first action during the Action Phase one of my Thunderift Falcons swooped in and with a 7 dice attack on the Necromancer! I rolled an amazing 8 damage with 6 of it Critical and immediately yelled out "FALCON PUNCH!"  :P

I can't possibly be the only fanboy out there playing Mage Wars can I?

What we must all remember is no matter the game we were all newbies at one point.

My current spellbook uses several Darkfenne Hydras. Every time I summon one, or it kills something, I shout, "Hail Hydra!" I think it's going to get old soon, but for now I'm safe.

When I played Lord0fWinter the other day with my preistess, when I divine interventioned him into my zone of angry angels, I almost blurted out "Asyra sends her regards" but refrained because I knew how cheesy that would have sounded.

"Why am I not a banana?"
"Because your genetic code dictates that you are human. However it should please you to know that you share 50-60% of your DNA with a banana."
"Thanks man"
"Are you telling me that some people are 10% more banana than other people?"

Not cool man, not cool. I'm still getting over that moment in GoT and probably won't ever completely get over it.

My Wife sent me a text one day and this is what it said,

Quote
As Rob Stark looked down the stairs he felt a sudden push behind him, and a voice whispering, "The Banisters send their regards."
