Spell Book Building Question "x" spells
« on: January 07, 2014, 05:33:20 PM »
Hi all,

relatively new to the game.

How many, "X" cost spells can we have in our spell book? How many copies? My girlfriend made her deck before mine from our collection and hammered me  :)

Thanks in advance,

Spellbook limits are based on the spells level not its casting cost.

So just check out the x cost spells level (in the top right corner of the card) to find its limits and point cost
Level 1= 6 copies
Level 2+= 4 copies
If the spell is "epic" there can only be 1 copy regardless of level

Total spell points must add to 120

I think we figured out we are doing wrong with spell book building...

Asyran Cleric costs 5 mana, but only ONE of my 120 to put in a Priestess book, with 6 copies max of that particular spell.

is that more accurate?

we were actually using the Mana cost as the spell point cost...

Correct.  Spell levels range from 1-6.

Then, double check your trainings if you werent.

If you are trained in the spells school, it costs 1 point per level.
If you are not trained in the school it costs 2 points level.
In specific cases, some mages have schools are card types that cost them 3 per level.

So the Priestess pays the level cost for holy, and double for non holy.  But her mage card specifies that she pays triple for Dark spells.
So a Cleric costs her 1, but a Firebrand Imp costs 3.

Also, if the spell is Novice, then you are always considered "trained" regardless.
