Played my first full game last weekend with my 9 year old. We are wondering, if a creature that has a defense trait (like the mongoose from BeastMaster) attacks a creature that is on Guard, does the mongoose roll for defense before the on guard creature makes it's counterstrike? Or is the defense cancelled since the creature was "ready" for an attack and the mongoose couldn't both attack and evade at the same time?
