Divine reward + mage wand
« on: December 20, 2013, 05:19:17 PM »
Played with a friend last night who was using the priestess and a mage wand bound to a group heal spell. Since group heal spell is a holy incantation, every time he cast it from the wand the priestess player invoked Divine Reward and quickly had a huge amount of life. This seemed like an odd application of the rule, but correct as I read it.  Can divine reward be used this way( and yes, I know I should have dissolved the wand early, but that's not the discussion I want to have right now)?

Yes it works like that. It even works if the spell doest heal at all (due to Poisoned Blood or Deathlock).

Really should have dissolved the wand ;)

(due to Poisoned Blood or Deathlock).

Ahh, I don't think so...

Finite Life
This creature cannot heal, regenerate, or gain Life. If the creature gained Life before it gained this trait, it keeps that Life but cannot gain additional Life. All Nonliving objects have Finite Life.

Really should have dissolved the wand ;)

No I meant is the Heal didnt heal the target, but yeah if the target is not healed due to Deathlock, the Sunfire Amulet wont work either (since Deathlock is arena wide, duh).

It doesnt matter if the target of the heal spell actually gets healed or not.
(the dice can roll 0''s only or the target can be subject to "finite life".)

If the spell is resolved the priestess gets +1 to her life (max hp) unless she has finite life.

Remember wands can only be used once each round
