I agree with Locusshifter...
If these 2 Mage expansions came with status boards, I think I'd be one happy dude.

The new cards, mostly Mage specific obviously, the new books (to house our current iterations) and the rules and chits necessary (if any) are all awesome.
A Status Board or two would make them perfect, imo.

I hope most of the forthcoming expansions follow this staple...great job!

The Sell Sheet is still accurate in terms on product contents.

The Forcemaster Vs. Warlord expansion will contain:
216 Spell Cards
2 Custom Spellbooks
2 Mage Cards
2 Mage Ability Cards
Die-cut markers (These are the health and mana marker variety.)
Rules

Action Markers (packaged separately) are heading out to distributors today.

Hope this gives you some clarity.

Thank you for the complement.

I am hearing all of you.

I need to get the next Organized Play kit produced, and then I will see about providing you with something that will aid in the Status Board dilemma. Hopefully I can have something to tell you about in a week or two.

Heck, I'd be willing to buy Status Boards, if they are exact replicas of those included in the Core.

Obviously, most of us would only need 2 additional...but whatevs!  :)

While we are on "what's needed for 3 and 4 players to play", I will happly see alternative board:
- two boards are ok solution for 4 players - but it makes me have to buy another Core Set and it will look only ok (wall in the middle of battlefield)
- for 3 players there should be some costum shape (maybe like this):

  xox
xxxxx
oxxxo
xxxxx

So maybe two 3x1 board pieces with drawn something (stairs, ramp, cliff) that will make wall around the oryginal arena like something else?
"I've seen this spell before - sold in alleys, brothels, and taverns. Men want more life. Always, they want more life."

As mentioned above modular tiles would be awesome. the only issue with that idea is that they would move without shelf liner underneath or a plastic sheet over them.

this setup really bothers me. you should strive for consistency in your products. if you plan to include 2 spell books and markers in every expansion i am quickly going to have to start throwing things away from my new purchases. i realize your still small and new so your trying to meet multiple needs but with a game like this your products really need to be focused. Players are less likely to make purchases when a products price gets ramped up by items they don't need.

Out of curiosity, residualshade, what do you object to in the expansion contents?  With two new mages I would expect two corresponding spellbooks for them.  And with new traits, conditions, and who knows what else is coming new markers would be necessary, yes?  Of course, I am the type of player that wants a mage specific spellbook for each mage I play, and I'll be snatching up the Priestess and Beastmaster books just as soon as they get to market!

Hint.  Hint.

Books like those RETAIL for $5. I guarantee it's not going to be all that much cheaper without them. I also believe most players would rather have them rather than exclude them.

OK. So right now, the solution is to buy 2 master sets, then the Green/Yellow action marker set?

Welcome to the forums evilhead!
You can paint the extra markers from the second core set with some spray paint.

Team games are played on the standard board with teammates starting in the same corner.

Free for alls set up the boards to achieve a 4 x 6 play area.

I have played a few team games on the standard board and it is not large enough IMO.  Def need 1.5 or 2 boards.

I have been testing a 4x5, 4x6, 5x5. My fave for 4 players is 4x5

Our group really loves to play 4 player games. So in order to make that happen,  I bought the Core Set, the Action Marker Set and the Forcemaster vs. Warlord expansion. Awesome! Now we have everything that we need except for two things:

* we only have 2 Mage Status Boards
* we only have 8 Mage Status Cubes

So far, in order to have 4 players, we have been sharing Status Boards between 2 players and using beads for status cubes. Not really the most ideal.

How do you guys get additional Status Boards and cubes? Do you really have to buy a whole other core set just for those 2 sheets and 8 wooden cubes?

Thanks! I love this game!
