do you have to be in the same zone as the gate to open it?

does the full action you use to open the gate have to be your mage or can it be a creatures?

There is no requirement on the gate that your Mage has to be in the same zone, so I don't imagine he/she need be.

As far as I know, non-Mage creatures cannot do anything other than what is printed on their cards.  The "you may" almost certainly refers to you, the player, acting through your Mage. That is, I believe, the case on every other card in the game.

i agree with both of those.  however i would like to make sure as it would make sence thematicly to have a demon be able to run up and open the gate for you, if you have to be in the same zone.  or it would also make sence for your mage to just complete a ritual and boom the gate flies open.
