? about quick actions and quick spells
« on: February 27, 2013, 12:30:44 AM »
My question is they only thing I am really unsure of in the rulebook. There are a few mage abilities and equipment cards that say you may perform an ability or effect as a quick action or spell. Things like the Priestess ability to remove a condition, the beast master's ability to quick cast a level 1 creature.

Do you have to use the quick action marker or the creature(s) action marker to perform these abilities or effects?

Let's say the Priestess already used her quick action and regular action. Then one of their clerics gets a Burn condition. Does the priestess have to wait till the next round's First Quick Action phase to remove the condition using her quick action for that round?

Also, the Hydra has a full action attack and a quick attack with Counterstrike. If the Hydra uses their Full Action triple attack does that mean it can't counterattack because it can no long take a quick action/attack.

How about in the case of the Beast master can it using its ability cast 3 spells in one turn that are all quick actions? One for the ability, one for the quick action and a 3rd for a full or quick spell as part of it's regular action?

Yeah, you would have to use one of your normal actions to cast those spells. They're extra options, not extra actions. This applies to the priestess and beastmaster abilities. Like other mages, they could cast up to two quick spells in a round, one with the quickcast action and one as part of their standard action phase.

The case with the hydra is different. A creature with the counterstrike ability doesn't have to use one of its normal actions to make the counterstrike, it happens as part of the attacker's attack routine.
