Tournament Report: Con Carolinas Charlotte NC 6- 3- 2017.

10 mages entered our competition after some family obligations cost us a few. I didn't judge this event so I can only tell you mages, players, and a report of my matches.

Silverclawgrizzly: Straywood Beast Master.
Devilsvendetta: Priest.
Littlenog: Priest.
DrMambo23: Necromancer.
Jimillia: Necromancer.
Drew: Straywood Beast Master.
James: Siren.
Sarah: Force Master.
Logan: Johktari Beast Master.
Adam: Adramelech Warlock.

Match 1: James.
James is a good man and Gen Con judge. He put the pain on me with his elemental but a timely terrain replacement on my part got me the win by Mage Kill.

Match 2: Devilsvendetta.
He'd asked a few weeks prior if promos were allowed and I'd for once said "sure." A holy Dragon later I regretted that. HOLY CRAP Alfiya sucks to fight. The Priest beat the crap out of me and had me beat, until a well timed Teleport got rid of my Dragon problems long enough that a lot of damage got dished out to my opponent fast. It was a close match but I got the win by Mage Death.

Match 3: Jimillia.
Well lesson reminded. I put 30 damage on her super fast with only taking 5. 6 turns,later she's Drained Soul my pet falcon to death and I have 20 damage on me. The lesson? Millie is always dangerous and vicious. Eventually I was able to chase her down and finish her with my grizzly. I win by Mage Death.

Match 4: Littlenog.
Crap Larrick  is also 3- 0 so yay another round. He started very early aggression with a fast thornwall push to "say hi" but I recovered fast. A fortunate slam meant his big gun was bear food. He did not recover well and some low damage rolls from him gave me the win by Mage Death.

Alfiya is a blast to play as.  play against is another story....

I have 2 different priestess books with her. I might have to consider building a priest book with her as well.

Out of your matches what was the card or cards of the tournament from your book?

Personally I like to give my cards an extra hard hat award that either changed the direction of the game or just made a significant contribution.

Every match I summoned my Steelclawgrizzly and Pet Thunderift Falcon on Turn 2. In every match my grizzly did good solid work as I found creative and effective ways to get him where he needed to be to damage the enemy. Whether it was holding off a Water Elemental, slaughtering a group of support clerics, chasing down a Necromancer, or killing legendary angels the big bear was just a murder machine.
