Typical opening is
1 (QC) Crystal, move+Forge
2 (QC) Harmonize, move+Forge
In first rounds deploy enchanter's ring and cheap armor.
Close distance with an enemy while enchanting yourself and when You're in melee attack with Serctarus.
With Spiked Buckler, Reflex Boots and Helm of Fear You have enough means of avoiding attacks, while 4 armor and Veteran's Belt protect against damage that goes through.

A promo card. You can find the (very cool) art with google.

Next melee attack gains the bloodthirsty +2 and piercing +1 trait.

Kinda power strike but:
-for living, wounded creatures
-piercing +1
-dark instead of war

https://boardgamegeek.com/article/13221043#13221043 here's a nice promo list with pictures. It's up to Academy release, but on last page there are newer promos reported by other users.

Just like Power Strike it's novice spell. BS is a curse so discount from Curse Ring works. In the first printing of the promo bloodthirsty +2 was till the end of round and piercing +1 was only for next attack.

Bloodthirsty Strike is a flexible card because it can also be useful to cast it on an opposing creature when needed.  For instance, imagine you're in a zone with your [mwcard=MW1C23]Malacoda[/mwcard], who had been on guard but was attacked by one of your opponent's other creatures.  It's your mage's turn to act, and your mage is at risk of dying if an opponent's buffed creature in the zone were to attack.  One option is to move out of the zone and cast Bloodthirsty Strike on your opponent's creature.  This way, it has to attack a damaged living creature in its zone = Malacoda; while Bloodthirsty, a creature can't leave the zone to attack your mage!  Another option might have been to cast [mwcard=MWSTX2FFI06]Defend[/mwcard] on Malacoda, but the Bloodthirsty trait even forces an Elusive creature to attack a damaged living creature in the zone.  So... in addition to being a buff for your own creature, it can be used kind of like Taunt in a pinch.

Of course, you're giving that creature an extra 2 dice against Malacoda... but it could save your mage's life.

So, once the forge's are set up, do you then just take every turn to move to the enemy mage/attacking enemy mage? I'm fairly new to this game so I'm still learning strategy. This book looks interesting to me because I've only played maybe ten times now and I wouldn't have ever thought to create a spell book without the use of creatures.

Also, which weapons do you typically cast first and/or find most useful with this book?

Yes, You want to close with enemy early, but still stay in the range of the forges. Once You're buffed and equipped it's simple book. Attack with Serctarus to stack curses on the enemy. You may want use your QC to either check for defenses with Flameblast or dispel/dissolve annoying things.
If You are up against enemy that likes to stay in the corner then You may want to cast first forge in your near center and second forge at the same distance to the enemy or one zone closer. It's up to your judgement. You could also cast the Idol to force your enemy to close the distance by themselves. You've got enough healing and starting life to cast it early.

Also, which weapons do you typically cast first and/or find most useful with this book?
Originally this book included two Serctaruses and zero Lashes, but I needed that one point. With Adramelech Warlock I wanted to equip the Lash first, but my opponent used the Hauberk so I went with Serctarus. Because You're going solo You will have limited actions. That's what Serctarus is for, it's saving You an action casting curse instead of mage.

Or once your mage is damaged cast Bloodthirsty Strike on enemy familiar. They will get damaged from damage barrier or counterstrike if You're lucky. At least this was my intent when including the spell in this book.

I like the idea behind this book, but I keep wondering why you chose the Adramelech Warlock over her colleague from the Arraxian Crown?  You're not planning on throwing a lot of burn tokens around, so her "Fireweaving" ability isn't going to trigger often.  You have no use for "Demonic Reward."  And while opposing creatures (predominantly the opposing mage) will certainly be cursed, you won't be making many fire attacks to benefit from "Smouldering Curse" (maybe 2 or 3 triggers in a match, when you throw some attack spells as a finisher).

It seems like you might get more use out of the Arraxian Crown Warlock's "Curseweaving" ability (basically one curse per round gets Cantrip), and you'd benefit from his "Battle Skill" every round that you attack with Sectarus.  Of course, the Arraxian Crown Warlock would probably want to put 1 non-legendary "Blood Reaper" in his book - so you'd likely want to shave off 3 sbp to put towards a [mwcard=MW1C03] Dark Pact Slayer[/mwcard] or whatever.

Because I couldn't use Arraxian Crown Warlock two time in the same tournament. It's ADMW tournament restriction.

And while opposing creatures (predominantly the opposing mage) will certainly be cursed, you won't be making many fire attacks to benefit from "Smouldering Curse" (maybe 2 or 3 triggers in a match, when you throw some attack spells as a finisher).
In my match against Priestess I was down to 1 Fireball, 1 Trident and bound Flameblast. With Adramelech Warlock I wanted to play with Lash in the beginning, but enemy had the Hauberk.

I didn't put any creature for potential Blood Reaper, because I wanted to keep higher life.
