So i played a great match against EggShen last night! hes got a pretty mean straywood beastmaster booked, that uses a Tegu pet and Fellela along with other work horse creatures like Timber wolf. It was Incredibly close!!! It really kept me on the edge of my seat (but you cant let the other guy see that you might be worried, all part of the game! lol). I Made a few edits to the book based on a bunch of your recommendations and i think it worked out great! I pulled a dissolve to make room for a surging wave, although im still dubious about it considering i want to be setting you on fire and big sloshy extinguishing waves kind of ruin that plan, but i can see its uses and will be keeping it for FM and cheap slam uses.

I kept the 3 Bear strengths but i will be pulling one i think. 2 points i can put elsewhere.

I did pull the boulder for 2 rocks as Coshade suggested, and i tell you what, it worked out well. my problem is that i feel i still need a big range 2, acid ball and hurl boulder is a decent combo that with Akiros favor can really burst down a creature or conjuration in a a decent one two punch. i think ill be paring another spell to make room for the boulder again but im keeping the rocks, they were my kill shot against EggShen. plus 2 more dazes even if they are 9 up are better than one. I think the boulder makes more sense for the Priest simply due to mana constraints, and the fact that i really dont need the ethereal trait that much. sorry force hammer, maybe in my druid. ;)

i think its funny that this time around that yellow D12 was really messing with me! i failed every single defense roll, but i hit with every daze roll i made. my tempo gainers didn't really help in this match much, but that's part of the fun, cuz they aren't my only option. and since there was no huge investment made, they are staying, when they work they gain me way more than they lose me when they fail. yay for effective planing!!!

Also I feel i should mention that in games where promos are allowed, one of my 4 pillar of lights, is in fact a sunfire burst.

Ok on to the highlights! I was pretty excited about this match, and i really want to put this book through its paces and make it flex. So i used the IMO weakest opener ive got so far slightly modified, moonglow, move far center, crystal turn one, HA knight of westlock, FD force orb turn 2, turn 2 FD hawkeye, Dawnbreaker ring.
He opened with a forge and an emerald Tegu Pet. followed with a ring off forge (beasts), a mana flower and a FD on the tegu and a move to FC. 3, another ring off the forge (enchanters), Fellela and another FD.
Once i saw Fellela come out i knew i might be in trouble so i planted a Dawnbreaker (what i planed for turn 4) temple, moved up to NC and cast another FD on myself i think ( don't quite remember that exact spell but i used the action, that's important.) i had init the next turn so i let him plan a spell for the Fellela and his forge. i planned the flameblast (thanks guys!) and my sunfire burst, 2 of my unavoidables, i had 11 mana, perfect to step up to his NC and flameblast/sunfire burst for 8 dice a burn chance (which i failed, stupid D12! lol). i was honestly hoping to kill her with just the flameblast but i was 1 damage shy and i hadn't cast akiros favor yet, so i had to cast the Sunfire too. killed her though! before she got off a single spell. tempo regained.

Long story made shorter he obviously got mad that i killed his pixie so he stepped up and hit me with his tegu, took 3 damage. i move my HA KoW to my NC and guard in preparation for the next turn. next round i hold my QC so does he, i move into the zone protected by my HA and cast a ToL Far Center and shoot the Timber wolf he had cast (at some point prior, this is probably round 5 or 6 sorry guys it was like 2 am) for 2 damage and a stun! Blessed be some tempo finally!! He moves in his Tegu and hits my guard with it, the HA takes 3 damage and a rot! ugh! Hits back for a 5 dice counter strike and gets some damage but at this point i cant really care about the tegu if hes hitting my HA. Then my HA attacked the Beastmaster (who moved into my zone to hit the now defenseless HA (because as i said before, failed every defense roll i made! lol, and he wanted to focus it down. He hits for a bunch of damage but only 4 gets though because of the 3 armor. KOW hits the mage for 7 damage! (you were right shark bait they hit pretty hard un assisted!) that's essentially the round after the stunned wolf acts.

at his point the damage race begins and between myself swinging 3 for my punch (and dazing, was doing great on those rolls!) the knight hitting between 5 and 7 by avenging me, and my tower dishing out the dazes and 2 dice attacks, plus me setting the BM on fire a couple times, ended the game quite tight with me having 3 life left, but victorious. 

my favorite part was dropping a heal on my KoW with 8 damage on him for a full 8 healing, then ignoring the rot for the rest of the game, Heal is an amazing card. all non Holy schoolers be jealous!!! totally the right call to have 2 here.
Still got some work to do, especially on that opener, but the enemy forced my hand when he bought his 4th action (Fellela) and i knew id lose the edge a bit too much if i let her fly for long. i suppose i could have saved the sunfire and force pushed her for less mana, i see that now and it would have been a better play mana wise. eh live and learn.

Things i wanna change: I'm dropping down to 2 bear strength, and i may pull the staff and the Wall of Thorns. i want my boulder back so that's 4 points, maybe 2 more pillars of light or another heal? not sure but im certainly sure how i feel about Heal now! Freaking awesome!

Anyway thanks for listening to me ramble on! this has been a really exciting experience for me. its official though, im gonna perfect this book and bring it to gen con (slightly tweaked im sure) next year!
