Couple of rule questions
« on: April 05, 2013, 10:54:00 AM »
Thank you before hand to any help i get here!!!

i tried looking over to this questions that came up while playing my friend (just bought the game) and was wondering if you guys could help me out.

1. what happens if you run out of cards to play?

2. rules said if a creature with slow trait gains the fast trait they cancel each other. that means the creature acts normally right? as if it didnt have either trait? what if you add another fast or slow? that trait takes over right?

3. just to make sure... ALL cards are spells right? to trigger gate to voltari... friend said creatures and equipment were not spells so we played like that.

thank you again for the help!!!

Welcome to the forums w0lfang!

1. Nothing, but that should not happen very often. (If really ever)

2.correct, if a creature has slow, and you give it the fast trait, it is normal. If you give it the fast trait yet again, it will now be fast.

3. When you cast a; equipment, enchantment, conjuration, creature, incantation, or attack(spell), You are casting a spell. The only time when you are not really "Casting" is when you are revealing an enchantment. Casting is an action, revealing is not. If you look in the glossary, at the beginning of the Rules Book. it will say "Page 16 SPELLS" and list the for mentioned above.

Hope to have been of some help. Happy Gaming!

If you are running out of cards to play, both of you should stop turtling so heavily and consider actually attacking the enemy mage as that is the primary objective. I know it's real tempting to make sure you wipe the field of enemy monsters before moving in but you'd be surprised how faster a game can go if you at least harass the enemy mage with one creature out of your lot or similar, a hit is a hit.

Also nothing happens because it is impossible to be put into a situation where you can't do anything, every mage can execute a basic attack which is 3 attack dice, so if everyone literally runs out of everything (creatures, equipment) and there is nothing left on the field the game would literally devolve into a fist fight.
