There is no limit! Yes, you will need to use something else for the extra markers. Sorry about you running out! We found over the years that 8 was a good maximum, but included 10 markers to be safe! You are an exceptional summoner!
On the tokens, like many card games that use tokens, we do not provide the tokens. If you look up tokens in the Codex it mentions to use small dice, pennies, beads, or anything you want. We may include a sheet of armor +1 tokens and other tokens in a future expansion.
