I really wanted to try out the pirates in the set and tried to combine them with the kraken.

My opening:
T1: 19 Meditation amulet + Echo of the depths 3
T2: 12+1 Gerard Matranga + Meditate + Song of courage 1
T3: 10+1 Voice of the sea + ?

The main idea is to boost the pirates with the sunken ship. Matranga is amazing to summon at the beginning because he allows you to become aggressive (piercing) or defensive (mana).
The book itself is pretty low on water spells, but heavy on songs. I did add the bed of urchins for some matchups. When the opponent is very defensive the plan is to cast the snatchers in combination with those. If the opponent is agressive I plan to be more aggressive with the sharks and hopefully, the undead.

Current problems:
- I want to be able to keep Matranga alive longer. That's why I added the tree and fortified position. They are very expensive though. I tried mend/minor heal, but these cost too many actions and the range is too small.
- I never actually want to cast the 2 undead pirates. I love the theme around them, a lot more than matranga, but they just don't mix very well without shallow sea and ballad of courage. I might test some more for this.
- I'm thinking about dropping the trident and the ring of tides, but for now, I'll keep it in.

Feedback heavily appreciated.

The Sirens training in pirates and songs seems weird since 2 of 4 pirates are undead and not able to use songs.
I tried to build a pirate book but switched to sharks for that reason.

There's 5 Pirates - Turghut, Blightheart, Gerrard Matranga, Shoalsdeep Thrasher and Merren Harpooner...

Doesn't wildly change your premise, but just saying...

It's simply too awesome not to use them. I actually like all siren pirates to be either undead pirates or fishy pirates. It doesn't make much sense for human/living pirates to team up with a (deadly) Siren. But since he's a legendary guy there could be a cool backstory for him.   ::)

You're obviously a theme kinda guy! I don't care about it myself - if they produce cards for an astronaut, a sausage and a flowerpot, then I'll happily use them if the stats are good!

Cool Thematic book!

Seems like i would be rather bad if the spawnpoint gets dispelled with you having meditation amulet out.

So maybe use Healing Madrigal x2 instead of Mohktari ?

Id also find room for 1 shift enchantment, mainly to be able to move Fortified Position.

Thanks for the tips! I will change the book. All very good arguments that I didn't think of.

My current experience with the book is that it is rather weak to be honest. I never had the oppurtunity to summon the undead pirates. There's so little synergy with them and the rest of the Siren that it hurts. :P

Pirates of the Carribean A Siren
Spellbookbuilt by the OCTGN SBB
Attack
3 x Swell
2 x Surging Wave
1 x Geyser
3 x Acid Ball

Conjuration
2 x Wreck of the Viridian Lace
4 x Shallow Sea
2 x Bed of Urchins 2x Wall of Thorns (You want something to block line of sight and it doesn't hinder your lvl 1 Sharks.

2 x Coral Barrier
1 x Mohktari, Great Tree of Life (For 2 Healing Mandrigals) /sp?

Creature

1 x Blightheart
1 x Gerard Matranga (I'm not sold on him but he has perks)
2 x Merren Harpooner
6 x Shoalsdeep Thrasher
1 x Turghut
1 x Kraken

Enchantment
You have no nullifies or astral anchors one teleport an your going to be in a bad place with a 30 life Mage.

3 x Ballad of Courage (I'd run 2)
2 x Hydrothermal Vent
3 x Lullaby
3 4x Chant of Rage (4 of these and 1 less song of love)
- The idea being you would be raging people to attack your Kraken.  Thus you could siren call your Kraken to give him 9 Dice Pen 3 in Water zones for 1 mana.

2 1x Song of Love

2 x Rust
1 x Divine Might
1 x Fortified Position

Really going to vote up some Rhino Hides if you can get them in book.

Equipment
3 x Leviathan Scale Armor (you could run 2 an get a piece of leather armor for the extra point)
1 x Ring of Tides
1 x Echo of the Depths
1 x Voice of the Sea
1 x Meditation Amulet
1 x Shoalsdeep Trident
1 x Wand of Healing (I really think if it going to take up your major hand slot since we assume the Echo is in one you'd want a mage wand here)

Incantation
3 x Lesser Teleport
4 x Dissolve
2 x Dispel
1 x Heal
1 x Purify
1 x Remove Curse
3 x Reassemble
1 x Minor Heal

I think you will benefit from some +2 armor enchantments for your big hitters.  Like Kraken..

Equipment is also a great thing for Siren because to remove it your opponent has to be within 1 space of you.

Also you need something to deal with flying.  Gravikor I think is the name.  Is what I would suggest.
