Divine Intervention against biggies getting summoned

When you summon a creature you follow standart rules.
1 cast spell (select target, pay cost)
2 wait for possible counters
3 resolve spell
Now to summon a creatures you have to target a zone. Then you pay for example 22 mana for a water elemental. If you are then teleported away to another zone via divine intervention, the spell cannot be resolved since the target is out of range. You lost 22 mana that way.

Sure that's a very special case and also expensive, but sometimes open doors just appear

Even if you get teleported back to the same zone, it would cause the spell to be cancelled. And yes, you would be out a Full Action and 22 Mana. It can be a devastating turn of events if you pull it off. Usually people summon such expensive creatures really early though, making it tough to get a Divine Intervention on them beforehand, and once you've had it used on you once, you'll be wary of it ever happening again. It's one of those "fool me once, shame on you" kind of things.

Its lost unfortunately.

With the difference that divine intervention costs 12 mana, is level 3, holy mage only AND epic while ET is level 1 and mostly costs not even close to that.

... While on the other hand purge cost 12 and is quick action and a wasted water elemental is 22 and full action and maybe his only buddy. So what the enemy might lose also raises.
But yeah it's not a super deal and only worth if it fits into your plan anyway.

Personally I love this little trick. It's a good reason to run seeking dispel/ reveal magics if you run a specific type of book.
