Growth markers and multiple attacks
« on: July 08, 2016, 10:46:43 PM »
Hello.

I was wondering if a creature with growth markers reduces back to its basic melee attack when attacking multiple times, or does it keep the increased growth attacks throughout the multiple attacks? e.g. Shaggoth Zora with 6 growth markers + Battle fury = 4 standard melee dice + 6 growth markers + Battle Fury = 10 dice + Battle Fury.
Would the dice rolls be 10 + 4 or 10 + 10.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

A creature with growth counters recieves mellee + tokens. They act just like any other melee bonuses and only activate on the first attack of a double strike or  battle fury attack.

Anytime something says it grants Melee +X, you should assume it means the Melee +X trait and that it works exactly like the description of that trait in the Codex. Meaning, it only applies on the first possible attack of an attack action. You can contrast this with something like Johktari Hunting Knife which says: "If this Mage is level 5 or greater, Johktari Hunting Knife rolls an additional attack die." This wording indicates that the base number of attack dice has actually been increased rather than just receiving a bonus.
