Mage Wars Mondays - Episode #17 May the Forcemaster Be with You!
« on: December 15, 2014, 08:15:51 AM »
We're back with another Mage Wars Mondays! Scott can't be with us this week, but Rick and I talk about the queen of mental magic, the Forcemaster! Also, my phone rings in the middle of the recording, so you never know what to expect. Feel free to leave comments below, or give suggestions for a future show.

Nice podcast. This makes me want to play the Forcemaster again. I still haven't played a Forcemaster with Devouring Jelly and I should, but I also like the idea of Skeletal Knight. I haven't been using Thoughtspores much because they feel so squishy and I always feel like the full action it takes to cast them slows me down too much, but I should give them another shot.

The big thing about thoughtspores, is you need to cast them early and keep them going for them to be the best they can. In the middle of a fight you do not have time to summon them. So the key is keeping them alive to be worth their effort with minimal effort on your mage's part.

I see Force Masters in my area put Blocks or Reverse Attacks on their Thoughtspores, generally makes them not worth the effort of killing. The other thing to do with them is to carefully select what you're going to spell bind to them. There are different levels of irritating you can put on one and in the middle of battle you have to consider very carefully if it's irritating enough to take your attention off the Force Master to kill them.

What we must all remember is no matter the game we were all newbies at one point.
