Licensing deal with Dynamite Entertainment
« on: October 20, 2014, 11:13:14 AM »
Just announced, Arcane Wonders has made a deal with Dynamic Entertainment to produce multiple products including novels, comics, graphic novels, and other things. The article can be seen -->HERE<--.

This is awesome. It's what I've been patiently waiting for; to learn more about the world of Etheria and the different nations/people that inhabit it.  The first product will come out in January of 2015 and will be a novel entitled "Mage Wars: Nature of the Beast", written by Will McDermott.

I'm super excited for this, what do the rest of you all think?

Sounds very promising. I am not a huge fan of fantasy books, however I would definitely give it a try.

Fantasy books are my favorite, so this is right up my alley. Obviously I don't expect anything earth shattering (not to say they won't be good, but they most likely won't be like LotR or Game of Thrones or anything along those lines), but these should still be entertaining and help immerse us into the world of Etheria.

Ok now this I'm excited about. We've been wanting some more lore from the beginning. Now we just need that Saturday morning cartoon and we're all set.

Comic books and graphic novels are cool.  I'll definitely support a prose novel or two.  But I'd really geek out over a Mage Wars video game!!!

Yeah, I'm shallow that way.

Will all of the main characters be mages? Or will there be some non-magical heroes too? It sounded like the latter. I really hope that there will be non-magical heroes. It seems unfair for mages to get all the power and glory and leave none for everyone else.

Regardless this looks really exciting! Hopefully I'll be able to finally learn enough about Etheria to continue writing Mage Wars fanfiction again!

I am Sailor Vulcan! Champion of justice and reason! And yes, I am already aware my uniform is considered flashy, unprofessional, and borderline sexually provocative for my species by most intelligent lifeforms. I did not choose this outfit. Shut up.

So it's January now, is there any update on this? The article said the first novel was due out this month but Amazon has a release date of March 10th, 2015.

Amazon isn't always reliable about release dates of stuff but I was just curious if there was any other news on this? I've really been looking forward to it.

My guess is that march is probably a real date. If first comic book of MW should be released this month, one would expect some fuzz or buzz to build a proper hype. I am hyped 5 months already :-D

Mage Wars table top RPG is what I'm hoping for.

I was thinking about this also - if you could somehow use the cards in the RPG it would be cool.
