Hey Guys!

Here is our third episode of Arcane Duels. These are the spell books we used at the tournament at Gen Con! The Wizard was used to get 4th place and did beat the Warlord in round 2 (it was as close of a game as in this video). I noticed the audio is a little odd until round 8 (Sorry I can't fix it)!

Yeah, that was a great moment. First I thought: what the hell is he putting on an almost dead unit. But in the end it made perfecly sense.

Thanks for the great playthroughs. They are getting better and better. I like the new makro view of the cards, which are played.

So far I've only watched the first part.  I like the laid back nature of the videos along with the higher level play (that most review videos and other lack). 

My main issue with match is that the Warlord is playing far too risky.  If you're going to start with barracks + construction yard you should really stay 3 zones away from the opponent at all times because you won't have the mana to properly defend yourself if you don't.  It would've made much more sense for the Warlord player to start battleforge instead of barracks if he was going to move in on the Wizard, not only because the ATW is better with battleforge than barracks, but because it would've allowed you to stack armor, defenses, regen, etc, making yourself a very inefficient target for attack spells (and saving you 11+ points of damage).  If you really want to go double spawnpoint (and still be the first to move in) you should definitely lay down the battelforge first.

That was the only painful thing to watch though, otherwise I'm looking forward to part 2

Two things to critique, when the devouring jelly kills a creature, it gets a growth token. The other is that the wizard should have went for the mage all the time while in range(and maybe you should have tried a mordok's obelisk.

No, it doesn't.

Is there a point in the video where you guys discuss the philosophy behind your books?  I like the look of the Tool Shed.  Is the basic game plan to keep the opponent away from the conjurations with Teleport Traps and lightning spell stun/dazes?  If so, I'm curious about your experiences with positional management?  My brother and I keep talking about how cool ranged creatures seem, but I've never been too sure about how to keep targets at range at a reasonable cost in mana and actions.

Thanks for the responses guys. I think Nathan was going agro purely because he wanted to put pressure on. It definitely forced my wizard into changing his long game plan. He probably shouldn't of advanced his actual mage as close as he did.

@Alexander West- I'll post some more info on Monday. He is more geared toward reactive plays and taking the right "tool" out depending on the situation. Btw I read you beastmaster write up and it was rockin. Really thought through and well planned.
