Magical Adventurer's League (rules)
« on: May 01, 2014, 06:29:26 PM »
All player-controlled mages start at level 0 with 0 spellbook points, a C-orb containing a level 1 spell, 5 empty C-orbs, an empty spellbook and some money. Their level increases by 1 and their spellbook points increase by 20 every time they get an Arena Badge. There are 6 arenas with badges. The Westlock Arena, which gives the Divinity Badge; the Salenia Arena, which gives the Psy Badge, the Wychwood Arena, which gives the Tree Badge, the Bloodwave Arena, which gives you the Warrior Badge; Sortilege, which gives the Seeker's Badge; and the Darkfenne, which gives the Shadow Badge.

When you want to attempt to capture a spell or object in a C-orb, first check if you are in that spell's range (objects are treated as spells during this step), then roll the effect die as many times as the level of the C-orb you are using. A combined result equal to or greater than twice the level of the spell will be a successful capture.

The Basic C-orb is level 1.
The Super C-orb is level 2.
The Ultra C-orb is level 3.

All mages can have a maximum of 6 levels worth of spells contained in C-orbs with them at all times. Some spells cannot be captured. You cannot capture spells during an official match with a member of the Magical Adventurer's league. Also, if you ever capture a sentient creature that was not originally in your spellbook, then you are declared a wanted criminal in the nation that you capture that creature, and anyone can capture you yourself if they use a C-orb on you successfully after they defeat you while you are in that nation.

In Straywood, this applies to catching any spell, not just sentient creatures. Straywood's policy on C-orb users is this: If you can capture, then you can be captured. In Wychwood those who aren't members of the Magical Adventurer's League will just try to kill you.

After you have all 6 badges, you can challenge the Four Grand Masters of the Magical Adventurer's League in Etheria plus whoever defeated them last. If you win against them, you will be put in the HALL OF FAME.
---------------
A Different Etheria

The world of Etheria in the distant future is different than you know. Here are some of the changes.

Salenia's Arena is not in regular space anymore. It is in the World of Dreams. The World of Dreams can only be accessed while you are asleep, through the Garden of your mind. After that, you have to find the Arena and defeat the Arena Master within a limited number of rounds (before you wake up). There are however, items you can find in the world of dreams which can increase the number of rounds you have left before you wake up. The World of Dreams also has creatures you can capture and other members of the league to fight. Also, if you are disturbed in the waking world you will be instantly transported back to the Garden of your mind and you will wake up.

Wychwood will destroy anyone who disturbs nature. In Wychwood, C-orb users are attacked on sight. League members in Wychwood must be careful to hide their C-orbs. The Magical Adventurer's league DOES have an arena in Wychwood, but it is hidden. Many of the denizens of Wychwood have tried to find and destroy it for many years. However, don't let that discourage you. Wychwood has trees that grow special fruits which can be fashioned into C-orbs, and you must go there if you want to get the Tree Badge. (hint: look for the entrance to the Subwych Station.

I am Sailor Vulcan! Champion of justice and reason! And yes, I am already aware my uniform is considered flashy, unprofessional, and borderline sexually provocative for my species by most intelligent lifeforms. I did not choose this outfit. Shut up.
