Cool, thanks.

Hello guys,

If I use Force Wave on some flying creatures, who are still flying - no guards, no attacks made etc., and push them into an adjacent zone which is divided by a wall (any wall), would those flying creatures avoid the wall as they would under normal move circumstances and be pushed into said adjacent zone?

I believe that they would, but would like some clarification please.

Thanks.

Will you be posting Bignics spellbook too?

[mwcard=DNJ10]Stranglevine[/mwcard] brings to mind a couple of songs.  You may be able to incorporate them into a death message:

The Jets - Crush on you (also a more recent remix by Nero) "How did you know 'cause I never told, You found out, I've got a crush on you".

Jennifer Paige - Crush "It's just a little crush, Not like I faint every time we touch".

Big Pun - I'm not a player (I just crush a lot) the clean version "I ain't a player I just crush a lot".

Very good and interesting points there iNano78.  I totally agree with your comments.  Combined with everything else that the Wizard has going on for him, the Wizard's Tower is what you have said.  I haven't played against one yet, so I could possibly benefit from experiencing how to deal with one, being on the receiving end.

Ha ha! This reminds me of a post I read a while ago on BBG concerning Earth Elemental.  It's by Steve Kozlowski near the end of the current page:

https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1079149/how-use-earth-elemental

It could possibly apply to this guy too...

Sweet (callous chuckle).  I thought that it all appeared to be legal and made sense.

I've read a few comments about making the Wizard's Tower more expensive to cast, a higher level etc.  Although I agree that it is powerful and, indeed, brutal, I don't think that it is as super as some complainers make it out to be.  Yes it is an amazing attack to have and is worth every point of mana spent on it.  However, in my last game, my opponents [mwcard=MWSTX2FFC03]Bloodcrag Minotaur[/mwcard] took it out with one attack (4 + 2 charge attack dice).  Lucky dice roll with an exceptional amount of critical damage, you could say.  Nonetheless, this shows that the tower is not indestructible and I think that to change anything with it now, or in the future, would attract more negative than positive reactions.  I'm not sure whether Arcane Wonders would make such a big modification to a card, the errata on cards have been very minimal thus far and were for reasons in the interest of the health of the game.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Wish I didn't have to work the night shift..... :-\

Should be able to be a spectator on Sunday though!

Will the games be open for spectators?

I guess I can wriggle out of this one with my opponent as his following move was to put a guard on a creature and (luckily for me) I had a [mwcard=MW1C37]Thunderift Falcon[/mwcard] to action after that, who didn't do any damage to anything.  The wall wasn't destroyed by the attack (drat!)  Thus the [mwcard=MWSTX1CKJ02]Wizard's Tower[/mwcard]'s attack spell could have been cast then... if he can possibly accept that..... in retrospect..

Hey guys,

I've spent quite a while searching for an answer for this one (and read some very interesting discussions while doing so).

I can't see any reason why this is not legal and am quietly confident that I am right.  However, if I am wrong, I will have no problem accepting that.

Can a freshly cast [mwcard=MWSTX1CKJ02]Wizard's Tower[/mwcard] fire off it's spellbound attack spell e.g. [mwcard=FWA04]Hurl Boulder[/mwcard], straight after it has been cast?  Note: this is not during either of the QuickCast phases.

Scenario - I move two spaces with my mage and QuickCast a  [mwcard=MWSTX1CKJ02]Wizard's Tower[/mwcard].  I spellbind the [mwcard=FWA04]Hurl Boulder[/mwcard] and immediately use it to attack a wall.  All mana costs were paid, ranges were checked, immunities etc.

As always, thanks in advance.  The information from the fellow users and administrators of this forum are invaluable to us all!

You do not cast a second wall when you make use of the extendable trait. The second wall is simply placed as part of the cast action of the initial wall, which you DID check LOS for. It is in essence all one wall and you do not have to check LOS twice.

Page 18 of the rule book:

"Only the first wall must be within range, and both walls must be within LoS."

Alternative Play / Re: New team format! don't know what to call it

In terms of a name, how about "Mage Wars: Annihilation"?

I was thinking though, if a mage has 'died' and then carries on playing, I would assume that the 'dead' mages living opponents would not waste their resources attacking that mage and concentrate on the remaining 'living' mages.  However, the 'dead' mage would be a complete hindrance to the 'living' mages.  I think that you could consider some kind of restriction on the 'dead' mage such as a limit to quick action, non-attack spells, half mana channelling (rounded up or down) or something like that.  I think that there must be some kind of penalty for dying, otherwise the death of a mage doesn't have a great enough impact on a team.

Hey guys,

Is it possible to cast any enchantment, conjurations such as [mwcard=MWSTX1CKJ02]Wizard's Tower[/mwcard] and/or incantations such as [mwcard=MWSTX2FFI05]Ignite[/mwcard] on the other side of a wall which blocks LOS?

Thanks

Good news about the non-living conjurations, that's pre-emptively solved a potential follow up question.

Thanks guys.
